Worried about an incomplete abortion

This is my first post on here so sorry if it's not right.

Really needing some advice about my medical abortion!

I recently found out I was pregnant but I knew in my current circumstances I could not go ahead with the pregnancy. I took my first tablet Monday of which I would’ve been 7+3 weeks pregnant then I had to put 4 tablets up there and take 2 orally the following day.

I’ve been bleeding not moderately with a couple of tiny clots but it’s slowed right down and I’m worried I’ve not passed the pregnancy. It’s bright blood but more of a mucus type of bleeding. I’ve rang the advice line which the woman said to run up and down the stairs, do squats and star jumps to see if that gets things moving but nothings changed.

How is it going for you?

I have posted something similar in that I didn't have much bleeding and so I'm panicking.

I'm not sure I'm of any help but just checking in to say that you are not alone.

Hey I'm still bleeding but only light-moderate. No blood clots or anything, I just don't feel like I've passed the pregnancy. Aw Thankyou so much, I'm sorry to hear your going through a similar thing. Its such a tough thing to go through xx

I didn't feel like I passed anything either however if you still have a light bleeding that sounds like it's a good sign.

I bled very lightly for 24 hours only - no clots. I did have cramps. I actually passed a very tiny clear pink sac before I had any bleeding. Maybe that could've been something. It really could've gone unnoticed.

Today (6 days since I took the pill) I actually feel like my stomach has reduced in size and my breasts are no longer full and hard. I don't feel like there is anything inside me anymore whereas I've felt a fullness up until now. I hope it's a good sign.

I've searched and searched and have found some responses from people where they only bled a little and it worked.

The worry of it not working prevents people from processing what they're actually going through. It feels quite traumatic with the not knowing.

Sending lots of love to you x

Yes I'm still actively bleeding it's like lots of mucus with dark/bright red blood in so it's just all strange. I keep telling myself it probably has just gone unnoticed it's just confusing as it's not what the nurse said it would be like. I also got lots of cramps and backache within 20 mins of taking the second does of the second lot of tablets. I hope I feel the same as you this time next week it's just awful having no one to ring for advice and google doesn't really give you any reassurance. Glad to hear your starting to feel back to yourself, sending a big virtual hug xx

The cramps were definitely worse than the bleeding that's for sure.

Someone replied to my other post too and said they only had little bleeding and it worked. It's weird because I felt more pregnant the days after I took the pills. Today is a relief.

Searching google is a nightmare!

I'm in a country where it's illegal so I can't call anyone for advice. I've never been pregnant before and it was a surprise to me and not an option to keep it. Never thought I'd be using Mumsnet but it's been really great for this just knowing you're not alone.

How is it going for you?

1 week later and I've finally started bleeding properly!

Hey things have started to pick up today. I've passed a few big bits of fleshy stuff however I think they're getting stuck in my cervix as I have a lot of pressure and pain in there. I knew something wasn't right and that I hadn't passed anything but I'm guessing those fleshy bits are a good sign! Glad to hear your getting somewhere it's such a worry not knowing what's going on or what's normal! Keep me updated and give me a message if you need anything to talk about xx

When I had an incomplete abortion there was no bleeding at all. Nothing.
I took all the pills correctly but it didn't work.
I ended up paying for a scsn to see if there was anything left in there, and there was.
I was devastated as the detail was awful.
I was then given repeat tablets to take again. It was horrendous. I hemorrhaged and was taken to hospital unconscious in an ambulance.
I had 2 blood transfusions before I could leave.
In my experience if you are bleeding, its happening.

Good luck

@Allypallya I am so sorry to hear what happened to you but thank you for sharing your story. I hope you managed to recover physically from that although it sounds like it was very traumatic

@HollW I am pleased to hear you are having some movement now. Like @Allypallya says, it's probably a good sign now

Aw so sorry to hear about your experience I bet that was terrifying I couldn't imagine the heartbreak you went through for it not to be complete! It's just been a confusing few days it's been nothing like I expected it to be. I just can't believe how long it has took for things to begin to happen but I think it's because stuff has been getting stuck in my cervix!

I rang the advice line this morning as I felt pain and pressure down there so the lady said to wash my hands and put a finger up there to feel for anything and I could feel something half in/out of my cervix so gave it a little pull and it was a big fleshy thing. After that I've passed another 2 big things so I think that's been the problem which what's hopefully be resolved otherwise it was looking like a possible D&C! Thankyou for your reply xx

I'm starting to feel a lot better. I feel relieved that I'm finally starting to pass stuff and my body feels not as achy etc!xx
