Hi

I wondered if anyone’s been through something similar like me and got to the bottom of it. I had the medical pills 5 weeks ago, had the usual heavy bleeding, actually prolonged bleeding, so had a post medical scan where they said it was successful and couldn’t see anything 2 weeks after the pills, so sent me away saying the bleeding will stop on its own. Two weeks later I had another scan due to the prolonged medium/heavy bleeding and again they couldn’t seen anything on the scan, sent me away with two weeks work of strong antibiotics saying it’s possibly an infection which is causing the prolonged bleeding, but now 5 weeks it’s still positive and this is a pregnancy test I did that they provide so it’s low sensitivity. I’m due for another scan on Saturday as none of this is making sense... what could it be that is causing prolonged bleeding and the positive test? I know that sometimes it takes longer for the hormones to leave our body but what about the test that the clinics provide? That should say negative right? But this morning it came up positive. There is no chance that this is a new pregnancy as I can’t even think about things like that now. Thank you if you read this. I hope someone can give me some light to what’s happening with my body... it’s consuming me I can’t think of anything else... I’m worried that on Saturday they’ll do a scan and say there’s nothing there and will send me away again and then I’ll have to deal with it myself. I’m looking at the internet for possible reasons but can’t find any apart from retained products which was my initial scare but the scans are coming back clear so I just don’t understand. I’ve been bleeding for 5 weeks now it goes from heavy to medium to light back to heavy again... thank you

Well if you still get positives they really should be looking into this until they turn negative regardless. How far along were you when you took the pills initially? Did they do a scan before you took the pills?

Hi thanks for replying I was only 6 weeks when I took the pills, had a scan before it as I took the MAP that failed?

It’s a long time ago but I had similar after an early surgical termination. About three weeks after the termination I had a scarily big bleed and drove myself to A&E. I had a positive test and it turned out there was foetal tissue still inside me. Had a scan but didn’t need a D&C or repeat procedure, but did have an infection and needed antibiotics. Everything turned out fine so please don’t worry, but do call your GP again and maybe give them a timeline?

I’m on antibiotics too, how long did it take for you to get a negative result? I’ve had two scans now but they can’t see anything? It’s 5 weeks so the low sensitivity test should come back negative right? I’m going to go for another scan on Saturday and see what they say but I’m so close to going to a&e so I can get an opinion from the NHS.

Have they looked at molar pregnancy?

I hope it resolves but I’m also still having issues post termination and mine was 3 months ago 😔

Hi I had a scan on Saturday and said my uterus lining is stick thick so I’m going for a surgical on Thursday to remove excess tissue left over and because my pregnancy test is still coming up positive and it’s been 6 weeks. @Mummyto3GBG what are your scans and pregnancy tests saying? What issues are you having? I hope it gets sorted soon 3 months is such a long time to be dealing with someone like this. X

I honestly feel like I’m going to need my womb removing over this. I’m currently sat in a&e with suspected blood clot, either in my leg or pelvis. My test is negative tho but still having issues. I hope yours gets sorted soon too lovely it’s awful. Feel free to message me xx

I’m getting like irregular bleeding and really heavy bleeding at times. I don’t think my womb has gone back to its pre pregnancy state but no one will listen to me and they just keep giving me random meds to control the bleeding. Xx
