Surgical abortion

So we've decided in the end to have a surgical abortion. Mental health being the main issue. They have booked me for a scan first. Has anyone had to do this as well? I really don't want to see the scan and I just want to get it over with. That's my way of coping.

They'll turn the screen away, @FireflyLondon - don't worry, you won't see anything. They do need to scan you, to check how far along you are.

I hope this is as easy as it can be for you Thanks

I had a scan before mine (and they scan you while they carry it out, don’t know if you’ll be awake for it, I was for mine). But the screen wasn’t facing me either before or during. And the scan was very quick because they are just checking how many weeks, and that the pregnancy isn’t ectopic.

Thanks for your replies and support. Incredibly important. How long did it take you from the scan to the procedure? They told me they won't do it in the same day.

I went through this recently. They won't show you the scan unless you want to see. I think my scan was on the Tuesday and I got booked in for the procedure on the Friday, with MSI choices x
