Identical twins 😢

Please help, I’m 6 weeks with identical twins! Unfortunately due to medical reason it’s not advised for me to carry on with the pregnancy of both.

Has anyone ever had a selective reduction?

I’m so scared and I’ve got no support and I don’t know what I should do

MYbe ask for this to be moved to pregnancy choices? There will probably be women who have been in the same situation

Missingthebridegene · 22/03/2021 22:44

What an awful situation for you to be in I'm so sorry to hear this. Yes I'd move this to multiples or pregnancy choices and hoping this bumps for you xxx

How are you getting on OP?

MrsOV · 01/04/2021 17:53

@Anikam, i have not been in your situation. i can't imagine. i recently terminated a single pregnancy, that i had not accepted that i wanted, and it has crushed me. if there is any way you can avoid this decision, review those options. every situation is different, i'm not trying to sway you to do something that isn't medically safe for you and baby. there is something to be said though about your emotional state too. get counselling asap from mental health professionals, on how to cope with the decision, how to cope with the loss, how to cope with loving the surviving child, BEFORE you have to make a decision. sending you hugs, and good luck.

OP I’m so sorry for you. A friend of mine had a reduction of triplets to twins, also for medical reasons. It was done by Prof Nikolaides at Kings in London and all went well. Her twins are healthy and happy. She found it all very traumatic at the time but 4 years on all is well. Wishing you all the best.

Unfortunately I lost both of the twins last week at 13 weeks, passed them through medical management on Saturday 😔
