Hello all, I had a medical termination 8 weeks ago and was 7 weeks pregnant. At the time of termination I'm sure I passed the bulk of the pregnancy as they were large enough and the pain was excruciating. Since then ive had no pain but I've been bleeding some days like a period other days passing big clots and lots and lots of blood soakin through my clothes. I've called the clinic and waiting on a call back. I'm so traumatised it's been this long and a constant reminder everyday of something I feel so guilty about.I don't know what's going on

Did you have the depo or implant afterwards? They can cause prolonged bleeding. Have you used any pregnancy tests since? A positive test weeks after termination can indicate retained tissue, hopefully they'll offer you a scan. Thinking of you, it's a really shitty situation at the best of times, let alone when things don't go to plan.

That's really kind Thankyou @Bungal00 I had the depo implant on same day as I got given the tablets for the abortion.
I won't be staying on the injection either I will go back onto the pill. It could be caused by depo but I'm so worried that it's caused PID or endometriosis and may cause future problems gettin pregnant again. 😞

Also done a test that negative, most weekends I've had quite a few drinks with partner and thought this may cause more bleeding or make it worse but I asked my GP and they said no.

Did you take antibiotics after the termination? I think less likely to get an infection from medical but not 100%. I also think PID is incredibly painful as well as endemetriosis (can't spell it) so the fact that you aren't in pain is probably a good sign. Hope you get some answers soon.

Hey @Mummyto3GBG for some reason I can read it but not reply!
The bleeding did not at around 10 weeks! I had some tabs from doc to help it for a few days to stop! I would push and push the doctors to refer you for urgent scan as they had to do with me to make sure they're were no left over tissue causing the bleeding. It turned out I was just one of these unlucky ones that my body had trauma happen to it and wouldn't stop bleeding because of it. It will stop, don't go to any crazy lengths over it I know it's hard but accept it and it will stop xxx
