Positive test 3w after medical abortion

And booked in for a scan but not until 12th January :(
I have to take another test 2 days before but they said they would expect a positive test now (the low detecting test that they issue to you at the clinic).
I had a second fresh bleed and clot last week for 2 days, the nurse said likely retained tissue.
Fingers crossed for a negative test next time.
Other than that it seemed textbook. Now have another 10 days of worry.

Hi @Yellowcakestand I’m going through the process next week, so I can’t comment but I’ve done enough research to know this seems quite common and is most likely due to retained tissue - and seems to marry up to the fact you had a new bleed and clot. If they scan you and they find retained product over 15mm they’ll discuss management with you, but if it’s under they say it comes out with your next two cycles. I know it must be so hard to go through this process and still have the worry so didn’t want to not post something. Sending you a virtual hug. Have your pregnancy symptoms gone too? That’s usually another positive sign, even if they’ve reduced it’s more of an indication of retained tissue. xx

I didn't really have any symptoms so it's hard to know what was symptoms and what was anxiety.
I'm on the mini pill so don't know if I will get a period or not.
