Title says it all really.

Currently going through medical abortion at home.

Inserted the tablets this morning around 830am, started bleeding heavy around 20 minutes later.

From 9am till 11.30am had to change pad twice aswell as underwear and trousers.
Then again at 12.30 & 13.40 - complete trouser change, pad completely soaked.

I can now feel it sleeping through my trousers again now at 14.13pm

I expected blood, of course.

But how much blood is too much? Feel fine in myself, just the cramping.

I bled very very heavily, and large clots. Try to rest, lie down and drink lots
Be aware for anaemia afterwards too if you do bleed a lot

Bless you. Look after yourself. Do you live with anyone or does anyone know your situation incase you should start to feel dizzy or ill

How many weeks were you?

bigmamama · 22/09/2020 14:42

I inserted tablets about an hour ago and iv had no bleeding but awful cramps.
Should I be concerned I'm not bleeding yet?

Personally I'd be seeking medical advice - that does sound heavy.

Take it easy on yourself x

I’ve not had an abortion but I’ve had 2 miscarriages. I had one at 11.5 weeks and the amount of bleeding was more than I ever imagined. I would contact the clinic to be sure.

The leaflet says if you bleed through 2 pads in 2 hours and have to get changed to seek medical advice.

lunalulu · 23/09/2020 06:39

Hope you are ok? Has it calmed down?

mummyslittlenightmare · 23/09/2020 09:59

Thanks for the replies.

Yes luckily after 12 hours heavy bleeding, all has calmed down so I'm guessing baby has passed.

Feel a bit wobbly today but no pain.

I'm glad it's all calmed down for you and mad props for getting through this. Sometimes rehydration sachets help with wobbly-ness; YMMV. Try to get some heme sources of iron in you today (or lots of spinach etc if you're vegetarian Smile)
