Abortion

I know this is a sensitive subject, but we do need to talk about it. There is a lot of guilt and anger around it too. Does anyone regret having an abortion - or feel sadness and difficulty afterwards? Even if it's the "right decision" it still hurts.

Yes, I had an abortion when I was 17. When I then TTC when I was older and married I had 11 miscarriages. I often wish that I'd never had that abortion (no guarantee that would have worked out either I know) even though it absolutely was right for me at the time (and I was with an absolute arsehole).

I did too at the age of 17. While I think it was impossible for me to have looked after a baby, the after-effects, which I didn't realize were after-effects, went on for years.

I don't think this thread is appropriate in the miscarriage board

It should be moved to pregnancy choices

I’m new to Mumsnet so don’t know how to do that
