Is this a failed medical abortion?

So it's two weeks since I took my medical abortion pills. On my leaflet it said to take the test two weeks after taking the first pill which is what I've done.

One line means termination successful two lines mean it's failed.

One line is really strong and there is another faint line and now I'm worried it hasn't worked!

Is this a failed medical abortion?

It's very faint, how many weeks would you be?

Queensize1 · 20/07/2020 21:53

@Joopy I was exactly 6 weeks when I took the first pill so would of been 8 weeks now

I could be wrong but that looks like an Evap line to me so I'd say it's a negative (successful termination) but you could always take another tomorrow to be sure.

I would have said that's positive, tbh.

That looks like a positive pregnancy test but some people have pregnancy hormones in their system for a while following successful termination. Is there a number on your leaflet to call for advice if the test is positive? Perhaps they could arrange a scan to check.

I'm no expert but I still had positive tests a couple of weeks after a miscarriage. I would call your GP but also take another test in 48 hours. I would also expect a stronger line at 8 weeks.

I had to do mine after 3 weeks not 2. I'd think it's probably showing up like that because theres still hormones in ur body. It takes a while for them to go. Do u have any pregnancy symptoms still?

Ell19 · 24/07/2020 14:03

I also was told three weeks, not two?

Queensize1 · 24/07/2020 15:30

@Password17 I have no pregnancy symptoms at all. When I found out I was pregnant I was really bloated and exhausted all the time and that went maybe a couple of days after taking all the tablets. I do think it's now worked just my letter said two weeks but after everyone saying 3 weeks it does make more sense and I should of waited another week really!

@Ell19 I should of waited 3 weeks makes more sense just the letter I got said two and the woman I spoke to on the phone said two weeks after the first pill you take!

It does make more sense to wait 3 weeks as I've still probably got hormones in my body!

I would imagine so. Take a higher sensitivity test next week to put your mind at rest - not a first response. I’m sure it will come back negative.
