Abortion and anti d?

So I've recently found out I'm pregnant again. I don't want any judgement for my decision but we have decided to abortion as heartbreaking as it is.

I'm going for a medical abortion and my pills are being sent out to me tomorrow. When I had my phone consultation they didn't ask what blood group I was. And when I was pregnant I had to have the anti d injection after birth and through the pregnancy as I'm Rhesus negative.

Do I need this injection again after I have my abortion?

How pregnant are you? Don't think anti d is required if you are under 12 weeks pregnant

I'll be nearly 6 weeks. Thank you 😊

I had an abortion recently. I was only about 5 weeks. I mentioned my negative blood group too and they said I didn’t need the anti-d. Good luck x

I had a shot after a miscarriage at 11.5 weeks, OP. In Ireland though so many there are different guidelines. Or maybe because it was close to 12 weeks. Good luck and hope everything is as painless as possible for you.

Hi OP , I work within this service
We stopped giving Anti D to EMA clients last year following Nice Guidelines that it is not required
Only LMA and all surgical clients who are Rh neg will get Anti D
You will be fine , take care x
