Faint positive 4 weeks after termination

I had to have a termination 4 weeks ago due to medical reasons that couldn't be helped, I was 5 weeks when it took place (pills at home) I took a test and it has come back faintly positive just want to know if anyone else has experienced this, thanks.

I hope you are well ☺Yes i had the same,i was actually testing faint positive till 8 weeks even that i had my period after 5 weeks. Did you use a home pregnancy test or the one from the clinic?

At 4 weeks it's probably residual hormones.

Have you had unprotected sex since?

I had a termination at 5 weeks too and it took until just after 4 weeks for the faint positive on a test to go. It takes quite sometime for all the hormones to leave your body and pregnancy tests are so sensitive. If it’s a faint positive it shows that your hormones are fading as they should be x

@mom2onegirl I had termination at 8 weeks, 6 weeks ago today which all went fine. I had to take the pregnancy test 3 weeks after that the hospital gave me and it was a faint positive so I rang the hospital and spoke with a midwife who was really nice and asked me if I bled a lot and did I have pregnancy symptoms before and do I still have them now. Before the termination I had very sore breasts and feeling very sick and the day after the termination the sickly feeling went but took about a week for the sore breasts to go so I said no i don't feel pregnant now so she said that's a good sign and just to repeat the test the following week, just to buy one from the shop and if it was still positive to ring back and they would get me in for a scan. I expected the shop bought pregnancy test to show positive as a lot of people on this group say they are so sensitive to the slightest hormone. Anyway i took the shop bought test and it was Negative. I was so relieved. It was a pack of 2 so the next week I took another one just to be sure and that was also negative so i now feel satisfied that the termination has worked. I would ring up to check what you should do but am sure it will be just hormones fading away and if it still shows a faint positive they will probably get you in for a scan to confirm you have passed everything as you should. Hi all, OP have u tested again since or called in? Just wanted to ask if anyone knows when is the normal time for a period to return post abortion?

i had term going on 2 months now and i still see a line on my test. i did have a period i believe it was but few days later started spotting again so i took another test and still positive im so confused.
