I have received my pills through the post due to covid.
Took the first today.
I spoke to a lovely nurse to have a consultation but feels really weird doing this at home. Terrified about what to expect although I have read on here to expect cramps and heavy bleeding for a few hours.

Hey @Northlondonmum1980. I had one around 3 and a half weeks ago. I think everyone's experience is really different and it's difficult at home as u can overthink/ not be able to tell what is normal/ isn't. I had mine with MS who had a nurse available via phone 24 hours everyday which helped with any concerns. For me I think the anticipation was fear of what to expect was actually worse than the process itself. I'd recommend a hot water bottle and some pain relief. Hope all goes well xx

Hi, I’m in the process of this now. I am around 4/5 weeks. I took the 1st pill Friday evening and then the 4 yesterday morning around 9am and the last 2 around 1pm yesterday afternoon and nothing has happened yet. Slight cramps, no pain relief required. Went to bed yesterday and woke up with more painful cramps. Lasted about 20 seconds and nothing since. No bleeding at all. I’m worried this hasn’t worked 😫

Thanks for your reply.

I had the first pill yesterday and have diarrhoea and awful stomach pain. I’ve had codeine but scared if the first pill has done that. Feel really weak too but it’s been a hot night.

Can you call the aftercare line? Did you get two extra tablets in case bleeding didn’t start?

They sent me 7 pills in total (plus painkillers) I had to take the 1st one by mouth which I took Friday around 9pm. Didn’t really feel anything from that. Then on Sunday around 9am I inserted 4 tablets and around 1pm inserted 2 more tablets. Had some stomach cramps yesterday afternoon. Nothing painful though. Felt bloated and have been toilet more regular. Woke in the night and had painful cramps for about 20 seconds but nothing else has happened. No bleeding at all. I called the helpline this morning and they have told me to wait until 1pm to see if anything happens. I feel totally normal today though. No cramps or anything. Really feel like this hasn’t worked for me. And I’m really worried I will have to go for the suction. 😢

@CJB17 Aww that must be so stressful. Here’s the tablets work your way through soon. Maybe they may just give you
More rather than surgical as the process has already started.
I’m due to insert the pessaries now. Terrified as I’ve reacted weirdly and sooo dizzy already. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed for you! Hoping it won’t be too bad for you. I have read so many mixed stories... I’m going to call them back in an hour as it will have been a full 24 hrs with no bleeding then 😢

CJB17 · 17/06/2020 07:28

Hi @Northlondonmum1980 wondering how you got on? I finally stared bleeding on the Monday evening (over 24hrs after taking the pills) nothing too bad, like a heavy period with mild stomach cramps. The clinic have advised this all sounds normal and advised me to do the test in 3 weeks x

Floopyandtired · 17/06/2020 17:39

I really hope you’re both doing OK ♥️ I was wondering if you could help me please... I had my phone consultation yesterday and the nurse told me the pills would arrive within 1-3 working days. Do you get a notification when they’ve been dispatched? I’m a bit worried as it’s been over 24 hours and I’ve heard nothing yet and feeling anxious. Thank you x

CJB17 · 17/06/2020 18:30

Hi @floopyandtired. I had my phone consultation on Thursday morning at 9am. I was advised 1 to 3 days but possibly delivery by Tuesday due to the weekend. However I had a text message on Friday from a Do Not Reply sender which said treatment package and instructions were with Royal Mail. It was then delivered to me that afternoon. I wouldn’t worry to much if it has been a day. Was your phone consultation AM or PM? It could be that they missed the post for that day if it was in the afternoon xx

Floopyandtired · 17/06/2020 18:37

Hi @CJB17 thanks so much for replying. My appointment was at 12:30 yesterday so you’re right I probably missed yesterday’s post. I’m just so anxious to get it done that I’m being impatient! Hopefully I hear tomorrow. Thanks again. Xx

CJB17 · 17/06/2020 19:29

Fingers crossed for you. Hope it all goes well x

Gosh, I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found this thread and that I'm not the only one. My pills arrived this morning and I'm a mess!
