Medical Abortion - Pregnancy Test

I had a medical abortion 3 weeks ago at home which went fine. I was just over 8 weeks pregnant. I bled heavy and passed a few big clots which i am assuming was the pregnancy. Bled a lot lighter for a week or so after. I have taken the pregnancy test the hospital gave me this morning and there was faint line in the T section with a heavy red line in the C section after about 5 mins. I rang the hospital and they asked if I felt pregnant before the termination i.e feeling sickly and sore breasts of which I definitely did and now I don't. I don't feel pregnant at all but its playing on my mind that it hasn't worked now. She said pregnancy hormones can take from 3 - 8 weeks to settle down. They said for me to repeat a test next week and if its positive to ring back and they will get me in for a scan. I have just had another look at the test there (a few hours later) and the T line is more heavy now not as faint as it was. Has anyone else had this experience and what was the outcome. Many thanks im just starting to panic now.

Hey, sorry haven't had this experience yet. I'm due to take my 3 week test next Wednesday but I do know that they say not to read the test after 10mins so I wouldn't worry too much with what you saw it look like hours later. If you dont have pregnancy symptoms anymore that's a good sign but if the faint line is playing on ur mind alot I'd advise you to call them up and see if you can get checked out. Hope it all goes well

@password17 thank you for your message. I hope all goes well for you next Wednesday. I did call them up and that's what they said do i still have pregnancy symptoms and I said no not at all but it is playing on my mind. She said just to buy a one from a shop but Im thinking its going to be positive as a lot of people say they are more sensitive and can show up positive so if it does she said ring back and they would get me in for a scan which i'll be fine about as at least I'll no then either way and hopefully it is fine. It was a faint line and it started appearing a bit after the control line was clearly visible whereas when I have done tests before as soon as it crosses the test line the line starts to appear before it even gets to the C Line. Fingers crossed all is ok.

Yeah peace of mind is more important than anything. Tbh I was really anxious about it all aswell and didnt feel like I'd bled alot so about a week after the pills i actually went in and had an abdominal scan and test done. She said she couldnt see anything on the scan (I would have been around 6 weeks then, took the pills at 5 weeks) but the test was faint positive and she said to retest in when the 3 weeks were up so I defo understand how stressful it all is! I get what you mean about the shop ones although from everything I've read it does seem like the hormones take long to leave the body. I've doubted myself so many times to the point where I feel sick and im like ahhh is that nauseous a symptom still. I think if it continues to play on ur mind defo go in and get checked out. Hope it all goes well my love xx

@password17 ah were you. Its awful isn't it. I think when you doing it at home you don;t know whats normal or what isn't so it plays on your mind whether it has worked or not but up until I did the test I thought it definitely had as like I say all my symptoms went almost straight away. Hopefully all be ok anyway. Thanks for your messages. Take care x
