Bleeding after abortion

Please no judgement -

So I had a abortion on Thursday (medical method) and was told to expect the bleeding to be heavy and once the pregnancy passes it will noticeably reduce. Well my bleeding has not reduced, like at all. I'm also still having significant cramping.
I called BPAS yesterday and spoke to a a nurse who told me to keep an eye on it and if the bleeding soaks 2 pads in one hour then I need to go to a and e. I'm having to change my pad every hour so it's not enough to go to a and e and it's not completely soaked.
Also the blood seems watered down? And quite mucusy? Sorry tmi I just don't think it's normal?
Has anyone else had this experience after an abortion?

Hi, I bled a lot, heavily,, and for weeks. There was nothing wrong as such, it's just how it went for me. I hope yours isn't as bad and starts to ease. I think up to 2 weeks is pretty normal.

The bleeding can be very heavy for quite a while. I was told the thing about soaking 2 pads in an hour, too, but it was never heavy enough to require that.

Yes, I remember the blood being very watery as well, not like a period. Remember, it likely includes amniotic fluid as well.

I had the opposite. I bled after the medication and heavily. This was with really painful cramping, sickness and diarrhoea.

However the next day it was almost just like a light period. By day 2 almost gone. I was so concerned that I had to for a scan to ascertain it the pregnancy had passed. It had.
It looks like it can be so variable with individual experience.
