Positive test after an abortion?

I had an abortion 2 weeks ago and was given the termination test to take today.
Has anyone experienced this? Am I likely to still be pregnant? Not to be graphic but I definitely felt like I’d passed everything when I took the tablets.
Will obviously contact the clinic but just wanted to see if anyone else had had this and what I should expect.
Thanks

Two weeks sounds like a really short time to be taking the test. I was told three weeks, then not to worry if it still showed positive and repeat at four weeks. Mine was negative by four weeks. It takes a while for the hormones to leave you.

I thought so too but it was definitely now that she told me to test.
Can I use a normal pregnancy test to check again in a week or so? I’m still bleeding slightly too.

I had to take mine 2 weeks after and it was also positive I had a scan and then confirmed everything had passed, however I did get an infection I had to have antibiotics for.

I've just had my first period after and it's seems all has returned to normal physically.
Emotional is another matter.

Was the infection from the abortion if you don’t mind me asking?
I don’t feel pregnant so am hoping it’s just a bit early to test.

@Bloodycats hopefully its just a bit early...if you feel ok physically I'd wait another week and test again, it seems unlikely that you are still pregnant, hope all is ok!

@fatisnotafeeling how are you feeling? I also just had my first period post abortion. I feel really up and down, finding it hard to distract myself and often feel a bit like I'm losing my mind Sad in some ways I wish I could go back and change my mind, but I know the reasons for terminating are still true Sad

@Bloodycats I believe it was related to the abortion although they never said specifically.

@LittleMermaid1 I am waiting for my counselling to start next week. I would also go back and change my decision although the reasons were valid they no longer feel as important as they did at the time. A few weeks ago I was suicidal and have been put on antidepressants, I am also drinking far to much to numb the pain. The abortion was the worst decision I've ever made and will always be my biggest regret.

fatisnotafeeling I hope the counselling helps you. It’s such a hard decision to make, it’s bound to take some time to get your head round it. Hopefully your anti depressants will start to have an affect soon.
Be kind to yourself, you and your body have been through a lot Flowers
