What happens at the abortion appointment?

I’m booked in to go in next week after finding out I am unexpectedly pregnant. I feel ok but obviously upset about having an abortion, but I am nervous about what actually happens.
Can anyone talk me through it? I am 6-7 weeks pregnant I think.

Sorry meant to add one thing I’m wondering about is if I need to be prepared down there? Or do they not need to do anything there? If you know what I mean.

Hi OP. No need to prepare, just follow the instructions not to drink alcohol prior to appointment etc. Theres lots of information on Marie Stopes website. I had a medical abortion. The did a scan, which was done kindly and I didnt see the screen, that's to check how far along you are I think.

Then there was a wait of about an hour, followed by a short appointment with a nurse who gave me one tablet to swallow and four small tablets to insert vaginally in the toilet. She gave me all the instructions. Then I went home and started bleeding about an hour later, followed by cramping and I passed the pregnancy tissue about 3 hours later. I took some paracetamol. After that I bled for about two weeks, heavy at first but then lighter.

I hope it goes ok for you Flowers
