Failed abortion??

So here it goes, on the 6th June I had a medical abortion after being told I could be pregnant with twins and one off which was in my fallopian tube (all turned out to be normal and just one). Within an hour of inserting the tablets vaginally, I began heavy bleeding, lots of different sized clots and severe cramping. It went on for around 6 hours until I passed a huge clot and instantly my cramps and bleeding seemed to calm.down. I bled for a further 5 days and then stopped. My worry is that I have taken my pregnancy test three weeks later and it's still.postive!!! I left it another week and still positive!! I'm going out of my mind with worry and so scared I'm still pregnant. Has anyone had a similar experience that turned out fine in the end?

When I had mine they didn’t let me leave the hospital until it had passed, and when it happened I knew what it was it didn’t look like a blood clot. My friend experienced morning sickness still for about 2 weeks after her procedure so it could be your hormones still? Is there anyone you can contact about it?

I had a positive for 4 weeks after mine. The nurse said it was fairly common as pregnancy hormones can stick around for longer in some people. The fact you bled so heavily with big clots makes me think it’s very unlikely it didn’t work. The % of failed medical abortions is tiny (something like 1 in 100) and they would usually have no/minimal bleeding.
Can you phone the clinic and ask for a scan even if you have to wait a couple of weeks for it? Better to be completely sure but I do think you’ll be fine

This makes me feel much better! I think I will phone just to see if a scan is possible as I'm.so anxious. Do you mind telling me how long after you had a negative please? Thank you for your help x

I think it was about 34 days after the abortion and I then got a negative. My period came a few days after that. How far gone were you? X

I I was 6 weeks and 5 days. My usual.priod is normally about the 25th of every month but I haven't had it again. Thank you x

I was 5 weeks 6 days.
My first period was on day 36 after the abortion. My cycle is always 28 days but the nurse did say that the first period will be 1-3 weeks late
