Am booked in for surgical abortion tomorrow. Will be 10 weeks. Just after a few answers if anyone can help please.

How quick do pregnancy symptoms disappear?

Can I go through procedure without any anaesthetic/sedation??

I will have to appear as normal within a couple of hours so how much pain will I be in?

For me, the morning sickness was gone instantly. Other symptoms a little longer.

I had GA for one and sedation for the second, even with just sedation I remember nothing.

Bleeding was heavy period-like with a few clots so get hold of some night time pads.

Best of luck and hope you feel back to normal very soon.

Everyone is different but for me, pain was manageable with alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen, really not terrible at all. I even went out to a party the next night which with hindsight was silly so do try to get in rest where you can and be kind to yourself.

I had just a local anaesthetic as that was all my local BPAS could give. Was painful but over quickly. I mostly had cramps for 24 hours manageable without tablets. Morning sickness was instant, and sore breasts about 48hours

Thank you. The sickness is the hardest bit to hide so as long as that goes pretty quick I should be fine. My normal periods are very very heavy so that won't be a problem to deal with and I'm pretty good with pain. Hopefully they'll allow me to have just a local anaesthetic or nothing at all. Don't think I could manage with feeling dopey afterwards. Have 5 other children to think about as soon as school finishes Sad

Hope you're feeling back to normal OP and that everything went smoothly

Waited over two hours in a waiting room to be told that I should have had a phone call to rearrange my appointment. Started crying. Obviously. So the nice lady scanned me and found I was actually under 9 weeks so they gave me the tablet. Went back yesterday for the second lot and was all over before the afternoon school run. Less pain and less blood than my normal periods which makes me think it's time to go to the doctors about that and get it sorted.
Thank you for asking

I'm glad it was all over quickly for you. Yes, get yourself to the GP, painful and heavy bleeding isn't something you should have to put up with on a monthly basis Flowers
