I'm in Scotland.
I've been given an NHS appointment for 3 weeks time, that's the assessment appointment and after that I will be given an appointment to come back and take the tablets. That will take me to over 10 weeks and I'm very upset about this.
Until this week, I had no idea that there is not one single private clinic in Scotland offering medical abortion. So to terminate sooner, I would have to travel to the nearest English city with a BPAS clinic, and pay for treatment. I think this is what I will do although it's a stretch financially and practically. It's adding a layer of stress to an already very difficult situation, I've spent all week crying and making futile calls to the local hospital but they are busy and booked up and it's highly unlikely there will be a cancellation. I also need certainty about when it'd going to happen, the waiting is doing me no good at all.
I don't understand why Scotland is so poorly served, especially as the NHS seems to be struggling to meet the need.
