Hi all. I had a surgical abortion in April 2015. I was 14 weeks (due to desperately trying to convince my partner to change his mind about keeping it) Almost a week afterwards I started getting excruciating cramps, worse than what I remember labour feeling like with my first. I was passing thick blood clots, I wasn't able to control them abd they were just pouring out of me and they would fill a pad within minutes. I ended up in a&e and was told I had a post-surgical infection and was given antibiotics. They helped and the problem went away.
My partner and I are in a better place now financially etc and would like to try for a baby soon but I'm so worried about not being able to conceive. I read that infertility caused by abortions is rare but a post-surgical infection can be a cause due to scarring of the womb/fallopian tubes.
Has anyone had a surgical abortion/infection and gone on to have more children? Obviously I won't be able to tell if I can have more kids until I start trying but I've got my heart so set on it, I'm petrified that I've ruined my body :(
