I found out I am pregnant on Friday. I'm married with one 3 yr old DS. We can't afford to have another child. I am going to have an abortion but just feel so sad. How do we get through this?

So sorry you're going through this. Are you absolutely sure there is no way you can afford another child? Have you talked it through with your husband?

Yes,we have talked it through. I've got a counselling session booked on Tuesday which I think will help. I just don't know how I'm going to get through work the next few days.

Yes I'm sure counselling will help. Can you take some time off work sick, at least until after your first session? I'd say you're pretty stressed at the moment.

If it's a case of you can't afford a baby but would like to have it, could you not do a online be idiots calculator to find out if your entitled to anything? Tax credits? Housing? Etc

Calculate as though the baby is already here and it'll tell you how much you would be entitled to.

You poor thing. It won't be easy but its good that you're having counselling and have good support in dh. Both will help you to get through it.

Having an abortion is the responsible thing to do if you can't afford a baby. Maybe write down your reasons for going for the termination so that you can remind yourself when the pesky hormones kick in and start confusing you.

If you're sure this is the way to go be assured that you will get through it. You may experience sadness, grief, guilt, remorse. On the other hand, you may feel nothing but relief when it's done. Both are normal reactions.

Keep talking, both in rl and here. That's important.
