Lady bits look different after abortion :/

Firstly, apologies for posting in here again! And also this is probably going to end up being one of those dumb blonde questions so sorry in advance!

Secondly, before I had my surgical abortion, I had quite large outer labia. I hated them, they're uncomfortable and rub and get in the way during sex and are just an annoyance and, in my opinion, gross to look at to the point where I never let my partner look at it.

I've been experiencing a stinging clitoris the last few days, only stings to touch (not that I've been touching it! Like when I go for a wee and wipe etc) and so I had a look in the mirror at what I was expecting to be my mess of a vagina and I noticed it looks a bit different, the outer labia which used to hang down quite a bit doesn't seem to be doing so now. They look and feel shorter and the area just looks a bit "neater" than usual. This can't be to do with the abortion... Can it?

I wouldn't have thought it would have anything to do with the abortion. As far as i'm aware they don't do anything with the labia; it's all vagina focussed.

Weird. Confused

maybe it's just a long time since you last looked down there, and things have changed over time naturally anyway?

The speculum used in theatre is quite large and heavy, or you might have a mild sensitivity to the antiseptic cleansing fluid used, and it may be that you're a little bit swollen down there which at the moment which could 'plump up' (sorry can't think of a better description) your labia and make thing look a little 'neater'. If so, this should revert to normal in a few days.

There is no cutting or similar involved so there shouldn't be 'a mess'.
Having worked in gynae for 18 years, please let me assure you that I've seen hundreds, if not thousands, of lady's parts and they all look pretty much the same, so please do not worry about yours.
