CW vs Lindo & Karl Murphy vs Shane Duffy.. which one to choose?

Hi,
I just found out that I am pregnant, this is my first baby and I am not British; so all pregnancy/birth procedures are very very new to me!
Friend always recommended me in the past Marc Johnson at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital; but he is on annual leave on my due date. I switched to Shane Duffy as I found out that Mina Savvidou was not covered by my insurer even though that would be my next choice. But now I realize so many things about Karl Murphy, I am a bit confused.. Even though I had the impression that he is the famous OB and he wouldnt care for me that much, and his secretary seemed to be a bit less organized than others, given the fact that there is no info available on Shane Duffy makes me wonder whether it is a right decision or not..confused I have no knowledge on Lindo Wing (assuming that I'll be on private as I am covered by my insurer) but have visited friends at C&W and facilities look really good..I cannot get any suggestions from my friends as due to my job, have to announce it after bonus season and need help.. Appreciate any ideas/comments..

Hi merveee3, may I ask what you decided in the end?

I am considering Karl Murphy also but was interested in what you have heard about him?

all the comments were really positive, but he seemed to be too famous for me as I personally try to avoid big shots in any industry but this is just me. So I picked Shane Duffy, had my first appointment with him recently and he seems to be really nice, friendly and cautious even though I'd would have expected a more informative and longer session. But I think he just wants to make sure pregnancy goes smoothly and healthily first as these are the very first months before pouring all information onto you..Hope it helps and good luck Trengirl19:)

I went with Mina Savvidou and Gubby Ayida. I have had both mine at the Kensington Wing at CW and I would never go anywhere else.

I'm American btw, and my parents are Doctors themselves. They LOVED the way I was cared for during both pregnancies. From start to finish, the entire process was amazing. (and I hate pregnancy)

I just saw this thread (sorry if its too late). I regard myself very fortunate to have been under the care of Karl Murphy. First rate.

I couldn't recommend Mina Savvidou highly enough. She is an excellent doctor and a warm person.
She is a very experienced Obstetrician, consulting only at the Kensington Wing, and a specialist in pregnancy scans. She is calm, reassuring with a very good patient manner. She explained everything clearly and completely making me feel very relaxed. Mina was always available for my questions, very professional and sympathetic to all my concerns. I had a very complicated second pregnancy and I was so fortunate to have her as my doctor. I chose Mina because two other friends of mine had used her and they both thought she was amazing.

Hi, I booked with Shane Duffy and he has been fantastic, he did my scans in early pregnancy and answers all the questions I have. From what I hear he is the very experienced and helps with all the difficult deliveries even from other consultants so I am reassured whatever happens he will look after me well
