I know this is an old chestnut but I'm going round the bend here waiting on dc2 to arrive. Any advice? DS1 born at 38 weeks so had no time to worry about birth or get bored - I only had a week off work.

So midwife and GP both said I would probably go early again so I stopped work earlier and now really regret having 'wasted' 3 weeks of mat leave. And I'm very nervous and anxious, so can't relax and not sleeping well either.

Any tips on how to chill out? I mean how do you keep going if it's 41 weeks plus? And I'm terrified I'll end up having to be induced, flat on a bed and end up with forceps or csection. Had forceps first time round and it wasn't a great experience, vividly remember being gawked at by burly male Theatre technician having had a lovely private birthing pool experience until then.

Hi there's a similar thread in the childbirth topic www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth/998827-Overdue-and-losing-it

I'm feeling the same as you after forceps last time at 38 weeks, am now 40 + 5 and still waiting...

i went 42 weeks with my no3,but they only leave you 10 days now,I had forceps with no1 and no2,but none with no3 and no stitches yippeee...so hopefully you wont need them again.

no advice really as baby will come when its ready,I have 4,and two were two weeks overdue one was 3 weeks over and the last 10 days over..
