If she's worried at all, she should contact her midwife - they would rather see her and send her home healthy, than miss something that needs to be sorted out
Hope she's OK

thank you she did ring mw no answer so only other place to ring was labour ward at this time, they said she sounds aneamic dd is on 3 tablets for this already and told her if worse go in to be checked.

Is the baby still moving as normal?

zippy539 · 09/07/2010 19:02

It's probably nothing but I'd be wary about a persistent headache at this stage because of pre-eclampsia. Has her blood pressure been taken recently?

trace2 · 09/07/2010 19:05

i asked same question about him moving she says yes lots more than normal, her blood pressure was last taken two weeks ago, i have told her if she not happy to go in or a walk in doctor, she not morngy at all so this is unusual her telling me shes ill

More or less movements from normal need checking so I would send her up to the hospital.

trace2 · 09/07/2010 19:11

am trying to ring her to tell her to go and checked just to ease my mind. she lives 20 mile away

Of course not!

Text her? Is there anyone who lives close who could go round?

I would be ringing the hospital if it was me tbh.

Phoenix · 09/07/2010 20:51

Just seen this have you got in contact with her? Have you got D's phone number?

GlastonburyGoddess · 09/07/2010 20:56

Might be stating the obvious, but has she been drinking enough water? today has been exceptionally hot and if she hasnt drank LOADS then she'll be likely to be feeling lightheaded, dizzy, sick, headachey etc

trace2 · 10/07/2010 09:13

Keep an eye on the movements, if baby is moving more or less than normal she needs checking.

trace2 · 10/07/2010 19:17

thanks i have told her this i just hope she listens

I think she will, she's sensible

Glad she's ok

Lynli · 10/07/2010 19:32

I was like that with my DS and it was high blood pressure. They decided to deliver him immediately. At 38 weeks it is perfectly safe to deliver.
Good luck.

mathanxiety · 10/07/2010 19:46

The symptoms of pre-eclampsia aroung 38 weeks are --
Headache
Blurred vision/ floaters/ flashing/ stripes in the eyes or photophobia (avoiding the light, light hurting the eyes)
Pain at top of abdomen or top rhs of abdomen under the ribs
Any swelling of hands or feet
Nausea/ not feeling 'right'
-- really any of the above, not necessarily all.

I think she should go and have her urine protein measured and also have her blood pressure checked.
