20 weeks low lying placenta due to fly at 24 weeks

Been for scan today and told that I have a low lying placenta, sonographer said that on frist look it was low (but not covering OS) but when he looked again after my bladder had filled up a bit it looked ok. However he wanted to be cautious so recommended me for a further scan at 36 weeks. Had no bleeding at all.

I'm supposed to be flying next month to Spain on a family holiday when I will be 24 weeks. Discussed with midwife in clinic who said was ok to fly but take notes with me, make sure I know where hospital is and check insurance/airline.
Have done all that, insurance ok, flight fine, nearest hospital is 30 mins away in Benidorm but still feeling upset and confused about what to do.

Me and DH really need this holiday, had a terrible year lots of work related and financial stresses, I've had hyperemesis badly with this pg and been hospitalised several times and we were really looking forward to being away with DS and wider family. I want to make a sensible decision not based on hormones but on balance of facts.

What would you do???

Is it low lying, but not Placenta Praevia (where it actually covers the cervix)? From what I've read, it's quite common to have a lowish placenta at 20 weeks and it usually then moves up out of the way.

I'd go. I had a similar problem and was fine. It doesn't sound too serious, although I know it's worrying. (Do take the precautions mentioned though.)

Have fun!

Its definitley just low lying and is not covering cervix at all which is the best case scenario.

Midwife seemed fairly relaxed about it all and even told me to have a nice holiday....prob being kind as i had cried all over the desk!!
