Hi all I'm 29+5 and for past week or so I've been getting a tightning across my tummy. At first I assumed it was just our baby moving about but the tightning doesn't usually come on after a bout of movement. I've noticed it more over the last few days and a few people have said it sounds like braxton hicks. But I assumed they came with pain but all I feel during them is discomfort... Don't have midwife until next fri and don't want to bother her just to ask... Does anyone else have any exprience or knowledge on this? It's my first baby and it doesn't feel like I expected them to feel not that I have anything to compare it too! I also assumed it's too early for this but people are telling me otherwise

I had painless BH with both my pregnancies. Perfectly normal to experience them more as a tightening or hardening of your bump. They might become more intense or painful leading up to labour, or may not. Either way - normal.
