Hi,

I am due to have my 4th baby in 4 weeks and starting to get nervous. My partner is in the army and is based a 4 hour drive away. My mum lives about 45 mins away.

My first was 2 days early & labour lasted 22 hours, my second was 3 weeks early with labour lasting 3.5 hrs. I was induced with my 3rd at 10 days overdue and labour was 17 mins.

My mum is planning to come & look after my kids when I go into labour but I am really worried about going into labour naturally & giving birth really quickly. My partner is planning 3 weeks off work but cant take this until I have had had the baby.

I have spoken to my midwife & consultant about my situation and they dont seem to understand my concern. They just said I had to phone an ambulance and take my kids with me to labour ward for my mum to meet them there.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation, can I asked to be induced early so my partner can be with me or is this dangerous for the baby.

Many Thanks :0)

Induction does hold risks, especially when the baby might not be ready to come out, so not in a good position, etc. I doubt they'd do it for completely non-medical reasons.

Do you have neighbours or people living nearby who could look after your kids until your Mum could get there?

FWIW, I don't think you could reasonably take 3 kids in an ambulance with you!
