Hi everyone,

Im feeling very sorry for myself today and was hoping i could just vent here for a bit of you dont mind, as know one really understands unless you are going through it.

Im 8 weeks pregnant and have constant sick feeling, i dont actually get sick but all day and at night i feel so sick.

I'm really tired and these headaches are really annoying as i know i can take tablets for it but would really rather not.

I feel like i have had a surge of hormones the last couple of days and every now and then when i stand up i feel dizzy.

I feel like i am a right moaner and annoying everyone around me.

Thank you for letting me vent, rant over.

Sorry you are having a rough time, try and take it easy if you can.

berrycravings · 07/07/2010 19:30

Rant away, feeling nauseus all the time is not easy and can get anyone down.
Headaches are not fun, I have taken paracetamol when really bad and does take the edge off if you get desperate, though I understand not wanting to take anything.

Hope you feel better soon.

xkatyx · 07/07/2010 19:35

Thank you,

the headaches are a nightmare, i think i may just have a early night and hope i feel less ratty tommrow

Oh katy I know how you feel!

I am 5+5 and have awful all day nausea. I have never felt so ill in my life. Seen the doc today and got a prescription for metoclopramide which should help. I too haven't actually been sick. Don't know about you but throwing up would actually be such a relief!

With the dizziness - you may have low blood pressure. If that's the case then do your very best to get plenty of fluid in, as dehydration will make it a lot worse. Be worth getting that measured next time you see someone.

How much of normal life are you managing at the moment?

I miss TTC, it was so much less grim.

xkatyx · 07/07/2010 20:08

I think maybe if i could just throw up i would feel a relief its just constant.

Im lying on the sofa working my wat through a bottle of water trying not to think of food, but funnily enough i cant stop!!

I read at 8 weeks you get a boost of hormones and that can make your blood pressure drop slightly, its not bad but i do on ocassion think ooohhh noooo im gonna faint then it goes lol.

Normal life is not going to well .. i feel like a bad mum and wife as i cant bare to cook so its crappy dinners, i feel contant guilt. and im so tired too that when the kids are home from school im just layed up on the sofa wantng to throw up, i cant even sot with them while they eat cause it makes me feel ill.

Oh god im moaning again sorry.

BUT saying all that, i would do it 10 times over if it ment a healthy baby.

Poor you Katy, its rubbish, isn't it.
You may be using these already, but have you tried travel sickness wrist bands. They worked for me. The sickness didn't go away but it was MUCH better. They got me through, really.
Also, I started taking pregnacare vitamin tablets after about 4 months and started to feel much better. my midwife reccomended them because i was feeling so bad, still sick, grumpy, all the bad preggo things, really. And i think they gave me the bit extra i needed.

Anyway - moan away. It is horrible. But the worse you have it the stronger the pregnancy is apparently (or perhaps thats just what they tell you to make you feel better!!!)

Hi,

Thank you all for listening to me rant

I think tommorow i will be on a mission to get some travel sickness bands, thank you estya. Also i have been taking pregnancare for a few months now, oh goodness if they help i dread to think how i would feel without them.

Congratulations jjkm on your twins wow must of been a big shock for you, but how exciting i love the thought of twins.

Today i felt terrible in the morning and lunch time, and actually just wanted to cry!!
But as day as gone on not to bad i had my dinner early, which i couldnt eat a lot of but better than yesterday, so i feel grateful for a couple of hours not feeling as bad.

But it's so worth it, and im sure i will forget it all soon enough

I feel your pain! the first trimester left me feeling so wrung out, I found sipping fizzy water helped with my all day nausea, that and bland food like crackers and bread, eaten little and often.

Also, let yourself be sick, dont fight it.. you feel better afterwards.

PickleSarnie · 08/07/2010 17:23

Obviously everyone is different but my morning sickness peaked between 8-9 weeks. Could barely move other than to throw up. Then it slowly but surely subsided for a few weeks after that. It actually dissappeared for about a week at 10 weeks and I felt almost human which was lovely.

Hope it gets better soon for you!

xkatyx · 08/07/2010 17:35

Thank you, i read that at 8-9 weeks the hormones increase which is proberly what is making it worse at the moment.

Hi all. Am 7 weeks pregnant only knew I was pregnant cos I suddenly started feeling terrible. I'm struggling to get thru each day, and only feel well between 12 noon and 2pm - it's like clockwork. I haven't been sick yet and am managing to eat - mostly crisps, yogurt and cheese sandwiches!
Have been in tears quite frequently about it especially as feel so guilty for my 2.8 year old ds. He's been great tho.
Have been feeling vvvv sorry for myself but am thanking my lucky stars that I haven't been sick and am able to struggle my way thru.

liquoriceandtomatoes · 08/07/2010 18:29

Really sorry to hear how you're feeling, I had nausea from week 6 and as it's my first just had myself to think of so I can't imagine what it's like having to cook for your kids and look after them with nausea.

My nausea went overnight around week 10 and I had an enjoyable 2nd trimester. I wonder if B6 helped me but if you're taking Pregnacare vits then they have B6 in them. Hope you're feeling better soon!!!

firsttimer78 · 08/07/2010 18:59

Hi Katy,
a tip I got on here that worked for me was to eat sweeties, lollipops etc - the more like the ones you had as a kid the better in my case! At one point I was concerned LO would come out crusted in sugar after I demolished two big bags of blackcurrant fruit pastilles in two days!
Hope you feel better soon, x

xkatyx · 09/07/2010 13:04

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling rotten. If it's any consolation, I was the same for the first 16 weeks but since then have felt great 90% of the time and the nausea and sickness is just a distant memory now at 31 weeks!

My top tip is to suck on ice lollies. I found they were the only thing that took away the nausea, and they'll also help if you're suffering in the heat.

Relax as much as you can, eat whatever appeals to you and don't worry - it's not forever
