Bump tenderness

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, and over the last week or so my bump (especially at the top, where i think his bum is) has been really tender - sort of feels like its bruised, although its not. Its not constant, but can be a stabbing pain especially if i bend/twist too much, and sometimes is just generally tender - to the point where even just my partner laying his hand on it really hurts. Does anyone else get this?

I'm guessing its just the skin stretched really tight over the bump, but just looking for reassurance really. Am going to see midwife Friday so will mention then anyway.

Sounds like you're getting stretched to me, the last few weeks are when all the mega stretching and the worst of the dreaded stretch marks appeared when i was about to have DS. if you're worried i would give your mat ward a call, or maybe NHS direct? T he stretching is annoying, i am 22 weeks with DS2 and keep getting a stitch from all my stomach muscles stretching.

Hang on in there, not long to go now

Am almost 29 weeks and have had phases of extreme tenderness as things stretch and pull. Sounds like that's what it is. But if you are worried give the hospital a call, rather than wait until Friday. Good luck!
