I had the opposite, too little fluid. Both MAY mean problems (that's MAY mean problems, not DOES mean problems!), which is why they keep a close eye on you with extra scans, and if the problem continues early induction may be suggested - if the dr feels the baby will be safer born a bit early, than left inside if things are getting too difficult in there.
With low fluid levels, it may be a leak (which can lead to infection), or kidney problems, or problems with the placenta starting to fail- I had 2 ds induced after several weeks of repeat scans and both babies were healthy.
I think too much fluid may also indicate possible problems, but I'm not sure what exactly, the idea with the extra scans is to check the babies development and be ready to deliver the baby early if needed - to prevent lasting damage.

I know this is a worry, but it's so much better that this potential problem has been picked up You will now have the extra care needed to maximise the chances of everything being just fine with both you and the baby.

Extra fluid can be a sign of GD which you do have.

I had excess fluid but from about 35 weeks. I felt really huge as was a few weeks bigger than dates. It can lead to complications in labour and during the babies birth but thankfully everything was fine for me, did notice a massive amount of fulid when my waters went and with every push!

Hi i had GD and also had a lot of fluid loads of it, and when my waters went they really did go lol

Baby was healthy and there was no concern at all.
