Hi mamma4, I'm 31 weeks today with non-identical twins. I'm also on the sept 2010 thread and there is another lady pregnant with her 2nd set of twins.

Swazzee · 13/07/2010 17:08

I'm expecting twins! Non id, and my first pg. 20 weeks in a couple of days and feeling pretty good. Totally unexpected by me, but DH said it would be twins from the moment I told him I was pg. Eerie....

sassy34264 · 13/07/2010 20:18

I didn't have any inclination- even though the sickness, weight gain and general well being was horrendous compared to my DD. Just thought it was because i was 10 years older!

2plus2more · 13/07/2010 20:26

I'm 29 weeks with DC/DA twins (don't know the sexes and don't know yet if they are identical or not).

I'm 18 weeks pregnant with identical twins. Have a thread going in antenatal clubs "anyone else expecting twins" I'll bump it if anyone wants to join!

I was really sick for first 3 and a half months but have started feeling much better in the last 3 weeks! still puke at least 3 times a week though you get used to it, I took 2 weeks off sick weeks 8-10 and went back feeling tired and rubbish but have managed to battle through.

Congrats everyone!

sassy34264 · 13/07/2010 23:01

jjkm My sickness went around the 12-14 week period. (Thank god). It's not always the same for everyone though, but i think the majority of people do get passed it around that time, same for twins.

mamma4 · 14/07/2010 10:22

Hi everyone. Mine are non-id boys and I already have 2 boys so Ill have my work cut out haha! My mum was a twin so we knew twins would pop up smewhere and I always said it would be and id have twin boys . Im coming up to 32 wks now an feeling great. I never had any morning sickness with any of my pregnancies, just this time i felt a bit sickly and also when i took a pregnancy test the control line was very defined. Hope any of you with sickness gets better soon and its so exciting! I was a bit miffed at 1st with some people when i said i was expecting twins, I had a few, oh is it congrats or are you upset! No why would I be upset when not everyone is chosen to have twins and we are very lucky afterall!

Sorry to say I had almost no sickness (maybe a bit queasy at times, but no vomiting at all), and not very strong symptoms at all. I did have a very definite test result too though - the line was thick and clear within seconds!

The reactions I've had so far are parents telling me how lucky I am, and non parents looking at me with horror and pity! First question is always 'did you have IVF?'. Have to say to them, 'nope - wasn't even trying to get pregnant!' We're both really excited about the idea of twins though - fingers crossed for one of each...

lucybrad · 14/07/2010 18:51

I have ID boys that are 6 years old. They were my first. I found out this pregnancy (a singleton this time) that the morning sickness was actually worse for me with a singleton! Went both times at 9 weeks though!
You get used to the negative twins comments llike ' oh, however will you manage' or ' rather you than me haha'. I am soo glad I had twins, as they are best friends and enterain each other and provide comfort for each other. they were really easy as babies, as I got them into a strict routine - waking one when the other was feding to feed both together. This helps you not be so knackered! Really you'll all love it. Be prepared for when you go out though - because you'll feel like a mini celebrity and people will stop to talk at every opportunity. People even gave me money for there piggy banks in the street!

babychickens · 14/07/2010 19:22

I found out on Saturday that I am expecting twins, total shock but now I feel really pleased. I already have two kids but this is my partners first so now he's getting two!!

I feel like total crap though, constantly feel sick, tired, headachy and have heartburn. Never had morning sickness before with my other two so this is a totally new thing for me. Have also already put on 7 lbs due to wanting LOADS of carbs to ease sickness and I'm only 9 weeks, already can't do up favourite jeans and have def pot belly.

I am a bit anxious though as my mum miscarried twins twice (she's no longer around though to ask anymore details) and I had a missed miscarriage in jan, so am trying not to moan too much and just be grateful to be pregnant and have seen two little heartbeats already

mamma4 · 14/07/2010 20:21

Haha ive been asked if they are due to IVF lots of times too! I really cant wait, il be a new experience having 2 babies! Mmmm wonder if ill be thinkin that in a few month after all the nightfeeds and no sleep ha.
Yes lucybrad, I have the same feelings that im so glad theyl have each other especially as my other boys are 11 and 7 yrs old because I was thinking aw Ill have to have another so theyl be close in age an now only the one pregnancy to go through.
Hope your ms eases up soon babychickens. I always wanted at least a bit of sickness but never had it, maybe because I never really felt pregnant untill i got a bump. I thought id be enormous by now cos when i had my other boys i piled the weight on and they were both 8lb 14 but this time my bump is alot smaller and ive only gained 18lb. Everyone keeps asking if im sure its twins, im sure they think im making it up haha!

Your lucky with the weight gain then mamma4, i am worrying a bit as I put on 4 stone with each of my other pregnancies and my dd was 9lb 13 oz so am thinking will i have large twins??! A few weeks ago I was concerned as I had no symptoms at all and was wishing I did to reassure me all was ok, now its kicked in big time, can't wait for it to pass!

I was asked the ivf question today - am sure it will be the first of many!!

mamma4 · 16/07/2010 12:52

Haha im sure it will! I dont necessarily think it will mean you will have large twins, saying that, im only going off my own experience this time as i was thinking the same as you. I kept imagining a huge bump carrying two 8lb something babies!
