I am 14 weeks pg with my 2nd DC.

In the last 24 hours I have:

  • cried inconsolably all yesterday evening from leaving work to going to bed, including while watching the finale of Desperate Housewives
  • slept for 10 hours (and still feel knackered)
  • shouted at my DH because he (quite reasonably and helpfully) painted the skirting boards in the kitchen (?!)

I have a pounding headache that won't budge and by 7.30pm most evenings I am fit to collapse.

Can someone come and remind me that soon (when?!) I will be feeling fine again and have some energy, and that it will all be worth it when I have this baby? I think my husband is wondering where his wife has gone...

probably more energy very soon - the worst symptoms usually are on the decline by about 12, 13 weeks in most women, then you tend to get more energy until about maybe 34, 35 weeks (everyone's different though).

slightly concerned about your headache - do you mean daily headache? It's a bit early in the preg to worry too much about pre-eclampsia/blood pressure, but maybe you should have a BP check just in case? Or at the very least, up your water intake as you may need a lot more than usual when preg esp. in this warm, muggy weather.

Sorry - should have added, mild dehydration causes headache (so try drinking more).
