Post birth periods...Anyone?!!?

I gave birth 5.5weeks ago, post birth bleed stopped about day 20, started taking microgynon at day 21. Well about a week into the pill period came, and is still here grr! About 11/12 days its lasted so far. Some heavy days, some lighter. How long did your first period last after birth??

Mine came back at 9ish weeks each time and was a bit heavier than it would normally be but lasted the same amount of time as usual, around 5-7 days.

I'm not sure that what's going on with you sounds right, and there is maybe a reason for the bleeding like some retained placental tissue. I would get yourself back to the docs and get checked out, just to be on the safe side.

i didnt get one till 5 months, but it was the most hellish period I ever had to this day - and started THE DAY BEFORE I was going back to work!?!?!?

Mine lasted for a couple of weeks I think, but the first few days was like a haemmorhage (sp?). No pain, nothing, but lots and lots of pads required...

Anyway, I agree with Lackadaisy, defo speak to your midwife, cos early bleeding may be something more than just a period - just to be on the safe side.
