I'm 23 weeks, and am finding I am getting increasingly clumsy... dropping things all over the place. Is it just me?! Does it go along with the whole losing your marbles territory, because I have suddenly turned into a right village idiot too....

Please don't let it just be me...!

Yes, I'm 28 weeks and am very clumsy .... keep walking into things ( not that I walk anymore it's more like a wobble), also keep misjudging the size of my bump so get stuck in small gaps! Constantly dropping things and then spend ages bending down just to pick them up again. Don't worry, you are not alone!! Also getting very forgetful and it's taking me ages to think of the names of people / places etc!

me too! It says in What to expect when youre expecting that its a typical pregnancy symptom! Clumsiness.
I have lost count of the amount of times Ive dropped my keys, bag, stuff out of fridge! I then just stand there looking at it thinking I cant get down and get back up again! Have mammoth 33 week bump to contend with.
Roll on August!

It's normal, you will also start walking into things as you have no idea how big you are!

Parking the car is supposed to get more difficult but im not having any problems yet

27 weeks and LITERALLY every day this week i threw my dinner down my top in work...

28+6 and a few weeks ago I was trying to walk into the doctors room and actually walked into the door frame!

Apart from walking into things, I've constantly got 'butter fingers' too!

Haven't heard the parking thing before, but it might explain something that happened when I was pg with DD2. Found the last space in the car park which was next to one of those covered trolley bays, parked it no problem, went to get out, couldn't open the door wide enough to get out. Was so . Sat there for a while pretending to do something until the people nearby had gone and I could move the car to a car park round the corner!

Just remembered on Friday I went to the supermarket. Parked the car, got DD2 out, went to walk between my car and the one next to it and couldn't fit between the 2 wing mirrors! Tried to flatten mine against the car and of course it wouldn't move and there was a man in a car opposite watching me! I eventually squeezed myself between them. Don't ask why I didn't think to walk round the other side!

Maybe there is something about the car thing after all.........

I'm just so glad to have something to blame on my total clutzyness. Although I prefer the term spatially challenged. I also keep getting myself wedged in places due to total lack of bump size judgement.

yama · 04/07/2010 21:48

God yes. I get so frustrated with myself.

The thing that pisses me off most is when I mis-judge putting something away or down. You know like putting the butter back in the fridge - I'll bang it against the shelf and the lid will fall off and I'll have to catch both the butter and the lid. Arghh!

I think its natures joke that just as we are finding it increasingly difficult to bend down and reach the floor our brains turn to mush and all hand-eye coordintion fails so we drop everything!! I am just leaving a trail of destruction in my wake at the moment

LittleMissSnowShine · 04/07/2010 23:45

yep!! keep walking into the corner of the bed which is wooden and hard and has left a few nasty bruises on my shins/knees. ouch!!

and I keep spilling food on myself

So I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to stop driving pretty soon (I'm 32+3) because my co-ordination and concentration are all over the place and that's just a stupid accident waiting to happen!! Pregnancy brain and clumsiness - they're def both real and both annoying

nymphadora · 05/07/2010 08:25

Lots of food down my cleavage too ( though not had it for a long time )

Worrying about the parking space size too, my work car park is very cramped

17 weeks and managed to pour two drinks all over myself at the weekend! I can imagine that it's only going to get worse!

I have just finished clearing up the pint of squash I spilt under our sofa. I also find myself turning sideways to go through gaps only to find that I am not any narrower in that direction. My parking has got better but my driving less attentive in general (trying not to do to much of it for the sake of other road users).
