Also feeling very sad for William and Ffion Hague. In the paper today, William was forced to admit that they have been trying for a family for 15 years, and have suffered multiple miscarriages, including one this summer which they are still grieving for. So sad for them to have to go through this, and even worse that the media force them to make such a private disclosure. :(

clareanna · 02/09/2010 15:33

Quick post as on train now.
Scan all fine- baby wriggling and dates bang on. No sign of what caused the bleeding.
also saw definite boy bits

AlbaDeTamble · 02/09/2010 16:01

fabulous news Clareanna!

Meita, what a time you've been through, but your little boy looks gorgeous, I hope he recovers well and you get home soon

Goodluckbear · 02/09/2010 16:46

That's great news Clareanna!!! What a relief Smile - and a boy!! Smile Smile

WestYorkshireGirl · 02/09/2010 22:11

Clare and Unbuffy - thanks for reassurance about DIY etc! Re gym ball, I do lots on this at pilates - you could try a class to learn the exercises then potter on at home? Have been tonight so all supple (supposedly!). Back ache not too bad - had acupuncture and massage today and am armed with various exercises so will see how it goes. BTW, how are the puppies?
Meita - gorgous pic and well done!
Waves to Viv and Magic - long time no see!
Have scan next week - don't want to know the sex so presume this means I shouldn't look at the screen much? Is is that obvious if it's a boy? I will tell the sonographer, but am torn between not accidentally seeing it and the fact I will be dying to see the screen!!? Glad it's Friday tomorrow!

thefatladyscreams · 02/09/2010 22:15

Great news clareanna - lovely to see him/her wriggle! My DH thought he saw boy bits on a scan - sonographer pointed out that it was the hip bone rather than some great testament to the masculinity of DH's line! Grin

This baby has spent the entire evening kicking my bladder - I am officially completely fed up with it. Can't imagine a life where you don't have to pee every five minutes [need a wishful faced smiley!]

sparklyrainbow · 02/09/2010 22:29

Meita, congratulations- he's gorgeous. And yay for Viv too :)

I am still here, reading when I can. Not been too positive lately, not really pregnancy related though back ache isn't helping much :(

WYG we didn't notice our boy's bits though sonographer reckoned they were very obvious- but she said she'd tell us at the end anyway, so I wasn't really bothered- more concerned he was measuring ok and as he should be!

Hope school is going ok for other teacher types and everyone else is doing well. I shall try to catch up properly at the weekend and hopefully will feel a bit happier by then Hmm x

clareanna · 02/09/2010 22:44

Hi sonographer was measuring the thigh bone and there was a very definite bulge with a little bit sticking up. I said " is that what I think it is?" and she said, "well officially we don't tell the sex until 20 wks but that's pretty obvious isn't it?!" she was then worried that we might not have wanted to know and said sometimes you can't help it it's very obvious. If you def don't want to know tell the sonographer and they'll tell you when to look away.

Hi all was just checking in to see how clareannas scan went and of course to get the full low down on meitas news!

Clareanna that's brill what a weight off your mind hopefully you can start enjoying things a bit more now. I think I was about 18 weeks when I started to chill and could feel babby moving about..

Meita he is GORGEOUS I could eat him up! I totally KNEW u were having a boy I don't know why but every time I thought of you I could see a haze of blue!

tFLS I hear you on the bladder situation. Just yday and today I literally pee, stand up, need to pee again. AND (tmi) when I'm walking at the shops or whatever it feels like there is a foot in my bladder and whoha!

Dd started nursery school yday and she's doing great. She's just doing introductory hours tho so I'm trying to amuse her from 11.30 til dh gets home at 5.30 and despite best intentions not to stick her in front of the box, I had to give in today. Then I reminded myself I'm 9 months pregnant and gave myself a get out of social services free card :-)

hi everyone else.. Boodle .. Next news from you (unless mercifully I got to pip you to the post haha).
X

thefatladyscreams · 02/09/2010 23:16

Hiya Lee - lovely to hear from you. Oh God yes walking. Just eaten a Crunchie but now paying for it as the sugar has woken up the baby! Glad DD's start at nursery went well and use that TV as liberally as needed!

HappyGirl1 · 03/09/2010 16:44

Hi Ladies, have been away with DH for the last week so just going to catch up... looks like there is some good news to catch up on Smile

Hope you are all doing well!

HappyGirl1 · 03/09/2010 16:51

Meita huge big massive congrats! Ianto is just super gorgeous. Sounds like you have had a tough time but great that you are both getting such good care.

Viv huge big welcomes!! I was sooo rooting for you on the TTC thread, that's just great you are here now!

Still got loads of catching up to do so apologies if I've missed anyone.

Anyone struggling to lift themselves out of chairs!? It is always a big effort for me now! Baby moving lots the last few days which is great and can see belly move in and out, still can't make out feet or anything like that though. Still struggling a bit to time it for DH but he's felt a few which is good. We both think it's a girl in there now!

Meita · 03/09/2010 21:27

Hi again,

so we got home yesterday evening :) Ah, the first night at home - pure bliss. Little Ianto let us sleep for about 8 hours with only a few interruptions. Accordingly, first day at home was great! I had a shower, Ianto had his first bath, we went for our first walk and showed him off to DP's work colleagues. Community MW came by and weighed him, he's still not quite back to birth weight so they will be coming again next week. All in all, we're doing just fine and enjoying every moment - even through the haze of tiredness and exhaustion.

I'm touched by all your well-wishes and congratulations :) It's starting to feel real now. But I have to apologize - if things continue as they are, I won't be much good at name-checking in the near future... So just a general, strongly felt thank you all round!

thefatladyscreams · 03/09/2010 21:51

Ahhh meita - just gone misty eyed reading your post. So glad you're all home and doing well. Hope your DP can be off for a quite a while?

One happy household tonight! Smile

SamanthaB123 · 04/09/2010 06:50

Good morning everyone Grin,

Back at school and not a minute to myself...I have three weeks and four days of work left (school weeks that is). I love my job but it is really tiring. Oh and I can only sit on a birthing ball so I have one in my office. It is the source of much fun around the school! Grin I think that the baby has begun to engage as yesterday was finally a better day. The pain has been awful. I was very excited to read Meitas news - congratulations, he is so cute! It's lovely that you are home now. I have to confess that I haven't been entirely keeping up to date with events as I've been so busy, so I hope that everyone else is well and happy (Welcome Viv!). I think that there might be scans coming up so good luck to anyone who is having a scan this week. I'll be back properly when maternity leave starts!

I have done the list for today and added you Viv - hope that was ok and that your details are correct.

Muser · 04/09/2010 09:11

Loopsy step away from the sticks. There is no point doing that, even if something had gone wrong your hormone levels could still be increasing. Right now you ARE pregnant. That's all you need to know.

louisesh · 04/09/2010 09:54

Hi All...MEITA what a wonderful outcome after the journey we ve all been through.Much love to you and your family.

Well, 36 weeks now EEK!!!! Finished work yesterday, got 2 weeks AL then mat leave starts....Had a lovely send off, fish and chips, big bouquet of flowers, my colleague came in from her day off to cover my clinic soo i could finish at lunch time.Arh....Love them all.Got my baby shower/piss up today[obviously not for me!!!]...."Georgie's" had soo many presents shes got a full rack of clothes already!!!!!!

I m constantly being told shes a "clinic" baby!!!!! Soo, hopefully, on call 20 odd babysitters!!!!!

Will catch up properly next week, hope everyones well.Have a lovely weekend all X

Gi1da · 04/09/2010 14:16

Glad to hear you're home at last Meita I hope Ianto keeps up with the long sleeps - he sounds just perfick!

SamB hope things continue to be a little easier for you for your last working weeks, though as I'm not familiar with them I can't help being amused at the thought of you sat behind a big desk balanced on a brightly coloured ball! (In my head it's a big space hopper but then I am clearly a child of the 70s). Smile

Louisesh congrats on finishing work, and with a great send off by the sounds of it.

Loopsy echoing Muser and saying step away from the pee sticks lady! Your diff is duffed so save your wee for all those upcoming mw appointments! I think this is a case for the marine police...

Have some fish!!!

Viv fab to see you on the list. You'll be amazed how quickly the days pass, a bit slow at first but then it all speeds up.

Magic16 how are those double differoos doing? Feeling less bleargh I hope?

and Alba hope to hear that you're feeling a bit brighter. I've been quite emotional, but seem to have gone angry rather than blue. I've developed a nano-sized temper fuse. Have got into a habit of saving email replies into drafts so I have a cooling off period before I send them!

What's the status at Poo Towers Buffs?

Bunny and Lucy can you believe we've hit 6 months already? Shock Shock Shock

Boodle Grin here's hoping miniboodle doesn't go into foof-fall just yet!

.....Hangs out celebratory blue bunting for Clareanna - congratulations!!! Wonderful to hear your scan went well, now time to relax. Smile

Sparkly I hope you get your glitter back soon Smile

Step away from the bladder mini TFLS - not nice!! Oh so much to look forward to. Hmm

Oh Jolls really hoping to see you back for good real soon x

WestsY would recommend you say that you don't want to know the sex at the beginning so that they can avoid showing you by accident, though my sonographer had the screen turned away from me the whole time she was scanning and measuring, and then just turned it round at the end to show me head, arms, feet etc. DH was watching but said he couldn't really make out much! I quite like the fact we don't know the sex, I just wish I could find a boys name I like! Hats off again to Meita, I think Ianto is lovely.

And to everybody not mentioned - WOTCHA!!! Big wave. Hope everyone is doing ok Smile

I had my first searing bout of leg cramp this morning. Frightened the life out of DH as I woke him up yelling AAARRRGGHHHHH!!! Still bloody hurts Angry. Is that because I was lying on my right or is this a delight I can look forward to at any given time? Hmm

batteryhen · 04/09/2010 15:01

Hello :) Can I please join your lovely thread? I have graduated from the TTC thread - after a MMC in march this year.

I am now 5+6 , with an EDD of 1st May. :) This is my first baby :)

Obviously I am completely paranoid and am knicker checking on a regular basis!

I am wondering if I should push for an early scan? xxx

PenguinsMummy · 04/09/2010 15:44

Hi. Can I also join please?

I got my BFP on 15th August after MC on 14th June at 11+2.

This is hopefully going to be DC#3 - I have 2 DD's - one who was 4 this week and the other will be 2 next month. I am now 6+3 so EDD on 27th April. All a bit scary but hopefully this bean will decide to stick around. Smile

Welcome penguin & battery lovely to see you here! battery I have gone scan mad- mw arranged a reassurance scan for 9wks (time baby stopped growing for mmc). I ended up also having one at 6wks due to suspected ectopic, private one at 12, dating at 13+6 and another at 16wks after a bleed. All were v reassuring, but I underestimated the stress of having to go back to the epu- found that v upsetting.
A lovely nurse at the epu has now recommended that I ask my mw for fortnightly Hb checks to help with anxiety. I think that's great advice because otherwise I'd just have my 20wk scan then nothing til 28wks. I'm hoping that now I'm getting the odd flutter that will also help calm me down
