Good morninge Smile,
I felt a bit low yesterday on and off...DD's are away with their father who is a blithering fool and I'm really ready for them to come home Sad. They'll be back tomorrow. The house is deadly quiet without them. I've had to wait in for all these deliveries too so haven't been out of the house for two days. It's no good for the soul. I have planned to do more today so that I don't wallow - all desperately exciting stuff. I am going to Sainsbury's, taking the dry cleaning to the dry cleaning place, cleaning the kitchen and sorting the laundry. I am washing all of the babies clothes today though so that will lovely. I bet I cry when I iron them...damn hormones!

Hope everyone is well, have a good day, SB x

Hi ladies, apologies for lack of posting/not name checking, mid school holidays = more tired = more sick. Just adding my scan date on. Should be having booking in next week, just waiting for my lovely lady to fit me in as I will be under the bereavement midwife during this one because of my previous, so at least she will be sympathetic! Although they have mentioned that this all may change because of the twins Confused

Fab news for all of you who have had scans! Very exciting! Hugs for Samantha today as you are feeling a little :( good luck with all your nesting activity!

Morning all,

Thanks for all the lovely comments after my scan. I'm surprised at how relieved I feel now (although there's always that little voice in the back of my head saying don't be too relaxed, it could still all go wrong).

Still getting to know who everyone is on here, but good to see Hopefully from the other thread. Know what you mean re midwife appts making it seem more real, I was disappointed when I got my booking in appt last week - really didn't want to get that until after the scan, if it wasn't good news its another difficult day to get through.

Anyway - on a more positive note, am adding myself to the list.

Samantha hope you're feeling better soon, pregnancy hormones are so unpredictable!

Bunder - laughed at your 'DH smells a bit weird' - hope for his sake its a temporary thing. Sympathise though as my sense of smell is ridiculous and there are also a couple of people in my team with less than tip top personal hygine - yeugh

SamanthaB123 · 13/08/2010 09:20

Thanks for the hugs guys, have made a conscious effort to get showered and dressed and put make up on so at least the day is getting off to some sort of start. My living room is now housing the following: 1 x carry cot, 1 x sola m&p pram with seat unit and raincover, 1 x m&p atom car seat, 1 x baby bath, 1 x changing box, 1 x changing mat, 1 x birthing ball and 2 x clothes horses containing drying newborn baby clothes. Oh and me, squeezed up in the corner where there is still room Grin. I don't want to put the clothes in the tumble drier in case they shrink. I am losing the plot Hmm.

naitimum · 13/08/2010 09:39

Hi Sam,
Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit low, just wanted to send you a big hug as you were so supportive to me the other day. ((hug)) Sounds like you are sorting yourself out now, and hope you can find some space to sit down!!
Bunder - hope the smell calms down, are you planning to tell your DH he's a bit stinky to you?

Unbuffy · 13/08/2010 10:19

Hi all,
Just noticed that I haven't updated my dd's age for ages and it's a leetle bit out of date... As I'm not the most confident list-poster I've got rid of the whole age thing against her - should save time/embarrassment at this end!

I've been reading but not posting for a while because it's all a bit stressful here atm. Hello and welcome and congratulations to new folkses and and jumping up and down for news from them at the Top o' the List - very exciting! And how lovely to hear from Totally, a proper sleb on this thread. Don't be a stranger, lady.

Hope everyone's okay, more hugs to SamB from over here.

It's all a bit horrid here, think I may be suffering from a spot of AND. Can't seem to do anything (and there is SOOOO much to do atm) and I'm crying and exhausted all the time and, yes, not sleeping. I've suffered from depression a lot in the past so I (eventually) recognised the signs. Just hoping it goes away, as I say there's just an unbelievable amount to do at the moment, with 4-week-old puppies and potty training and my Bloody Mother being a pain in the arse again. And the rest. So I'll be sticking around but quietly because I'm not a happy person to have around and I'd much rather hear all your good news!

Love to all
x

Hello everyone!

Scan yesterday morning went brilliantly. There was my little Roo, heartbeating away and everything! Grin Grin The lady that did the scan said it all looked very viable and while she had no crystal ball was confident as the heartbeat was so visible and strong, and Roo had a little wiggle too!

We are obviously delighted (although loo checks have not stopped! Blush) slept like a log (apart from two loo breaks) last night, the queasiness is back and I have a smile you couldn't slap off my face!!! Just waiting for the NHS 12 week scan (which apparently due to waiting times is likely to be nearer 14 weeks)

Part of me wants to remain a bit more cautious but I am feeling loads better now as my dates were right and I know m/c is rare at this stage.

Grin Grin

Effilump · 13/08/2010 11:42

Morning ladies, Dont worry about knocking ne off the list samB I hadnt been posting that often so I expected it! Im fine, and this babys due the day before my DS was due and he was two weeks late, so im hoping history doesnt repeat itself! How are you?
On the subject of clothes, i've got a few 1st size items, but my last DC was quite large and wasnt in them for long, about a week or to, and i've been told to expect another big one, so i've also picked up a few 0-3 months even if they will be a little large!

SamanthaB123 · 13/08/2010 12:28

Unbuffy I'm really sorry that you are low, have you spoken to your midwife/gp? After I had meningitis I was very unhappy for a long time and found that counselling really helped me. Please do feel that you can post, we can't help you if you're not around and everyone will want to. If I am speaking out of turn you can tell me shut up and I won't be offended. In my worst patches I just focussed on today. What do I have to do today? And I only did the things that were really important. I just concentrated on developing strategies to get through each day and to manage things that I didn't want to do but were essential. I developed a comfort zone where I could get through the days and I stayed in it for a good while. Gradually I came out the other side, but I am still frightened when I remember what I felt like and how hard I found everyday life.

Rayarere Congratulations Grin, your scan sounds like it was fab. I am so pleased for you. I still find myself knicker checking from time to time even now. I don't know I think I am looking for at 30+ weeks Blush!

Effilump My girls were both early (one at 39 and the other at 39+3) so I am going all out for another slightly early baby. My scans are showing an 'ordinary' sized baby who looks like she'll be between 7 and 8 lbs. This does not explain the 24lbs that I have already put on Blush. Ahem...must be loads of amniotic fluid (or something!).

Naitimum & Magic thanks for your thoughts, all those positive vibes wiggling their way through the ether must be why I feel so much better already!

Magic I think of you and your twins often, it's so lovely and adds a totally different dimension to the whole experience.

Oh God it's bloody raining now. Must go and bring the laundry in....

Gi1da · 13/08/2010 19:45

Sorry you're feeling blue. Hang in there and be kind to yourself.

toomuchteaching · 13/08/2010 20:25

Unbuffy so sorry you're having a tough time, to be honest I have no clue how you're managing with everything you've got going on at the moment, you are amazing... puppies, potties, pregnancy and difficult mother (I've only got 2 of those and it sometimes is enough to make me sob). So please take care of yourself, and if the hoping it goes away bit doesn't work, please find someone to talk to in RL, as well as all of us of course.

Look after yourself, lots of love.

HappyGirl1 · 13/08/2010 23:49

Unbuffy really sorry to hear you are having a tough time of it you poor thing. You sound really really busy too. Try to find some time to relax thisweekend, you deserve it Smile

Huge big massive congrats to all the good news scans this week, what great news! Really really big congrats. I just love reading about the good news so much.

No news with me, usual ups and downs that's about it. xx

Hopefully · 14/08/2010 08:27

Morning!

Not a lot to report here. nearly died on thursday when I had a teeny weeny bit of brown blood/mucus, but no repetition or further bleeding, so am determinedly staying positive (especially as it was only 1 day after having a scan showing everything fine).

Went to Vintage at Goodwood yesterdy, which was fun, apart from pouring rain for most of the afternoon. DS was fabulous though, and danced to the retro music and snoozed quite a lot. Most unusual for him Grin

rayeraye congrats on good scan! So lovely that so many of us are having positive scan experiences at the moment Smile

naitimum · 14/08/2010 11:39

Unbuffy sorry to hear you're feeling blue, hope you are having a good weekend!
Rayeraye that's great news about the scan!!

How are you feeling scan twin? I am such a bundle of emotions right now, don't know how I'll make it to Monday!

Hello to everyone else. I'm rubbish at doing big name checks but wanted to wish unbuffy the best.

Muser · 14/08/2010 19:26

Oh jolls, I'd be worried too. If it helps, my symptoms are diminishing too. We are on the cusp of second trimester where things are meant to change. I'll be thinking of you on Monday. And Alba too.

Hopefully · 14/08/2010 21:16

I lost all symptoms at 10 weeks with DS. Was so terrified I got them to bump forward my 12 weeks scan, and (of course) all was fine. Got symptoms again for another week before they disappeared for good and I felt fab for rest of PG Grin. i'm sure it will be good news for all of you being scanned next week, but I'll be crossing my fingers nonetheless.

dorcas111 · 15/08/2010 10:45

Jollster, I just wanted to add to what everyone said- you are nearly at 12 weeks when it is normal to start feeling better. I know it is hard though to not feel scared, so sending you lots of love, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.
Hello everyone else, sorry those of you who are having a rough time, hang in there.
That's lovely news about all the scans, all very exciting.
Can someone help me- I have been having these twinge-like pains, they are more to the sides, like where your bikini line is. They are freaking me out! Should I go to the doctor tomorrow? Should I be worrying? (I mean obviously I am, but is this something to worry about?)

AlbaDeTamble · 15/08/2010 10:55

Hi Dorcas, perfect description of round ligament pain, very normal stretching of the ligaments that hold the uterus in place. I am getting more like full on contraction type pains but midwives reassured me all this stretching is a normal, expected pain. I was advised to take paracetamol to calm the pain down and stop me being scared, and feet up and try to relax. Hope that helps you, see midwife anyway if you're still worried, a quick listen to heartbeat is fabulous reassurance.

Jolls and Muser, big squeezes for you both. Virtual handholding for tomorrow

iPhone typing so can't namecheck the incredibly busy week we've had whilst I've been horribly busy at work, but thinking of you all, with special hug for unbuffy, I get odd days when the hormones make me cry for no reason at all and that's tough enough. Try to go easy on yourself, I know that's easier said than done, and don't stop posting, we all want to help if we can, even if that's just with sympathy

Meita · 15/08/2010 12:09

Jollster and Muser I'm thinking of you both. Everything crossed for you!

TFLS good to hear from you! And good luck with the pram decisions ... it seemed to me like there is a whole science behind that. But maybe I'm just being a over-eager first-timer who wants to get everything exactly right.

Naitimum how are you doing now? Do let us know how you are getting on. Hopefully you'll be here to tell us that the scariest first few days are over and you are still pregnant!

Lee! It's good you're facebook friends with boodle who occasionally updated on your progress or I would have been seriously worried, what with you having been absent sooooo long! Your baby shower sounds great. How nice to have such a positive surprise! I know exactly what you mean though about still worrying. I find myself still worrying even now. Confused

clareanna the sick catches you at the most unexpected times, doesn't it just! How are you feeling now?

Louise how was your sister's wedding? Sorry to hear about your car 'accident' but very glad all is ok with baby!

SamB sometimes there are just low days - and being alone doesn't make them better! Keeping occupied defo. a good strategy.

Unbuffy have a big hug. I think I know what you are talking about, have had several spells of feeling very low during this pregnancy too. Doesn't make it better to feel guilty about not being happy, either. Do you have someone you can talk to in the real world? I've always found that meeting people helped, well, at least it was a good distraction.

Effilump good to hear from you too! Must be something in the air, all the 'oldtimers' checking back in :)

hopefully good for you for staying positive!

Not much news from this side. Have had some strange pains but don't think they are contractions, they feel more like baby boxing me in sore places. Ha - I've found something out: Symptom checking is just as prevalent at the end of pregnancy as it is at the beginning! Grin Bought a big pineapple that I'm going to eat all by myself later today Wink. Have to say though, I have quite a to-do list with stuff that should be done before baby makes an appearance, and somehow I think before I get down to it and just get it all done, baby will refuse to arrive.

Afternoon,

Jollster, Muser & Alba Good luck for your scans tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you all.

Meita Nearly there, you will spot loads of symptoms now as your body gets ready for the birth. Good luck with the pineapple, it worked for me. Made my mouth feel disgusting though!

Naitimum I really hope you are feeling better and having a good weekend.

Really fed up here today...have developed a permenant pain in the top of my bump on the left side. It isn't severe but is constant. I can't seem to get into any position where I can't feel it. It's keeping me awake at night and I just feel grouchy as I'm distracted by it. I can also feel it in my back. I think it might be a rib thing. I couldn't find anything in my baby book to suggest it was anything serious.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, SB x

Meita Oh god, the pineapple eating! I ate one at about 40+5 with DS, and all I got was a tongue that was red raw and sore with all the acid. And he didn't come for something like another 8 days...

Just updating the list with my EDD etc.
