ladybee big hug- see if you can get some diclofenac (voltarol) from pharmacy, or get a script. I had that and co-codamol. X

magic8 hurrah! Good to see you here

wyg save some cake for me-mmmm cake....

Big waves to everyone else...

Sorry I haven't posted for a while- my due date from mmc was yesterday, so I've had a bit of a week of it- horrendous day at work on Thursday, where stress levels were so high and heart pounding so much I thought I was going to faint- not good. Had a huge row with dh too- argh.
Yesterday was surprisingly ok- had lots going on and am at the beach for two weeks . Bought a pretty stone and threw it into the sea in remembrance - just a little gesture, but it was important to me to mark the day on some way and couldn't get to church. Now waiting for my 12 week scan date to come through... I'll feel a lot better after that...

Hello all - good to see you here 8s my old mucker. Well done on being brave.

LadyBee you are still very much in my thoughts- will see you back here for sure. Take care x

Clare that's a lovely way to mark your due date. It was important for me to mark the day and I wrote a wee letter to the baby which we planted under Japanese Maple II. Its amazing how much better I felt after, I honestly felt like a weight had been lifted from my heart. Hope you are ok x

Hurrah for your sleep WYG - pass the cakes round!

Alba I had the pubic dysfunction thingy towards the end with DD. It hurt like hell rolling over in bed and to get out of bed I had to swing my legs round together. I went to a physio and she gave me exercises, which I carried out sporadically and made it bearable. I don't think mine was that bad but since then I've always had wee twinges even when not pregnant.

Hope everyone else is well

Goodluckbear · 26/07/2010 17:26

Hey Lady - I don't have much to say on the painkiller front that the others haven't already said, but just wanted to say I'm still thinking of you and sending all my love.

Clare, that sounds like a lovely way to remember, really touching.

Hello Magic - so good to see you!!

We have moved house finally!! So I'll be out of touch a bit, the broadband isn't up and running yet so only intermittent internet access. If anyone here has any views on hospitals in north Kent area (well, specifically Mayday, Lewisham or PRUH) let me know what you think, I've got to get transferred somewhere closer to the new place.

Big hugs to everyone, 'specially you guys who are having a hard time right now.

xxx

BUnderTheBonnet · 26/07/2010 20:03

Ladybee hope you are holding up and getting plenty of real-life support.

Magic great to see you!

Where's Jollster?

I had my scan this morning, and was bang on for my dates which was fab. The sonogapher also saw a lovely cyst on my ovary, which is apparently "a very Good Thing" as it makes the hormones. Beautiful lttle fluttery heartbeat as well doing 171 bpm. Going back in a week and a half, then again two weeks after that. Thank goodness we can afford to go private - very grateful for that.

In other news, I feel very sick. And I am wearing maternity clothes already.

BunnyBaby · 26/07/2010 21:17

Magic welcome, lovely to see you here!

GLB congratulations on moving, we finally got there on Thursday and this is my first evening with broadband. Am so glad it's over and done with.

Alba I've also got some twinges, luckily mine was mild last time and I'm hoping for more of the same this time. Hurts more when I'm tired.

BUnder great news on the scan!

I'm off now to do more unpacking, see y'all soon xxx

WestYorkshireGirl · 26/07/2010 21:23

Bunder Great news on the scan. Hi to GLB and good luck with the un-packing. Moo and Clare made sausage rolls for a party and a quiche which clearly was too much as I then slept for 2 hrs this aft . Can see my week off not being very productive at this rate....

I need to go and do my Pilates exercises before it gets too late (trying to get pelvic floor is tip top condition!) Last week I didn't manage any exercises at home at all and felt it at class .

randomimposter · 27/07/2010 07:22
Muser · 27/07/2010 08:19

Great news on the scan bunder, it's lovely seeing that heartbeat isn't it?

jolls your 12 week scan is exactly the same day as mine! We can wobble together.

GLB I am probably going to Lewisham. They don't have the greatest reputation BUT have just opened a new midwife led birthing centre that looks lovely from the descriptions. Private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and some with birthing pool (all with bath). Lots of stuff to help you keep mobile during the birth. All sounds just what I want.

Tuesday's updated list moving a few ladies to MIA list to help make list updating a little easier, as haven't seen them for a while (all post 12 week mark, so am guessing they're happy elsewhere, not just keeping quiet through nerves before that all important milestone) if you're lurking and want to be back on the list please post!
Magic good to see you! list updating is just adding days to everyone (agreed that it's pretty tricky when it's been left a few days) - apols to anyone with incorrect dates now, did my best... but DS is 'helping'

Welcome Magic8! Congratulations and lots of sticky vibes your way (and to everybody else waiting for the relief of a positive scan).

Regarding the list, whoever updates it usually adds the appropriate number of days from the last list to everybody's count, and when anyone has anything special to add, they do it themselves.

So, I've officially reached term! Baby can arrive now. We are starting to settle on a name, hospital bag is packed with the exception of nursing bras (which still need to be fitted and bought), and we're basically kitted out with everything we think we need except a pram/pushchair. I am meeting some ladies from my NCT course later today for lunch, as they have already started maternity leave. If only I were sleeping better, everything would be perfect!

Sending best wishes all round!

oops alba - some x-posting going on there! Sorry!

AlbaDeTamble · 27/07/2010 10:51

Yay for Meita, 37 weeks, isn't that the point you're considered full term? Wishing you an easy birth when the time comes

Clareanna lovely way to mark the date, and good to see you're nearly at 12 weeks now, time to chase up that scan... no wonder you're feeling stressed, just waiting for that was enough to have me snapping at DH and completely on tenterhooks... hope you get the scan and some lovely good news really soon now.

BUnder very glad to hear your scan went well, are you doing the 10 week bloods/scan and nuchal 2 weeks later too? I did find it so much nicer to go there than the long wait with bad memories at the hospital and it was lovely to have fortnightly reassurance. DS has just asked me again if baby is a he or a she, DH is itching to know too, so might just cave and go for another scan this week if they have a free last minute appointment.

thanks all for input on the ouchy twinges... I feel fine first thing, but walked into town yesterday lunchtime and really struggled getting home with shopping bags, so have booked appointment with Osteopath on Thursday, googled and found local chap who seems highly recommended (even from MNetters), so might as well see if anything can be done before it gets any worse. On holiday this week, so trying to squeeze in as many appointments as I can as it's always a pain getting out of work, they're fine with it, but whatever's missed always has to be caught up on...

So many people moving house! Bunny, Lucky and Jolls, don't know how you all do it, just tidying up is challenging me. Sorting out the whole house would leave me crying in a corner begging for someone to wave a magic wand and get it all done for me. Hats off to you all! And best of luck with it.

Right - back to the potty training, no accidents yet today, but if I don't get DS onto the potty again soon there will be...

AlbaDeTamble · 27/07/2010 10:52

and I'm x-posting with you too Meita, so you are indeed term today! Hurrah!

Ba8y1 · 27/07/2010 13:06

Hi ladies, just a quickie as really shouldn't be on here while at work . Am finally brave enough to add myself to the list after having my scan last week - all looking good at the mo - didn't realise I (or the dh!) would get so emotional - at least I can blame it on the hormones! Hope everyone else is well - will post more often when we finally get internet access in the new flat - alba I agree moving is a NIGHTMARE! Good luck to everyone else going through it!

SamanthaB123 · 27/07/2010 14:22

Hello

So term has finally finished and I am on holiday for five and a half weeks. What a relief. What with the heat and the stress it was quite a slog at the end there.

I have been reading but not posting for a while so am sort of up to date with all the news.

Meita I can't believe that you are 'term' now, congratualtions! How are you feeling? It must be a relief to be on maternity leave and to be able to take it easy. It matters less when the nights are broken when you can nap in the day. You will let us know how you get on won't you?

Ladybee I am very sad to hear your news and hope that you are bearing up ok. It's just horrid. I have been thinking of you...

All Newbies Welcome - I hope that your time on this thread is boring and uneventful!

All is well here, especially now that I am on school holidays! We had a 4d scan at the weekend which was just fabulous. I would whole heartedly recommend to anyone who is considering it. We went to the birth centre in Harley Street and came away with about 30 photos and a dvd of our baby. She is so cute and already has my chin . It was truly momentous and we were blown away by the resolution of the images. She was the right size for her dates and weighed 2lbs 5oz. She's on track to be between 7lbs and 7lbs 7oz. The right sort of size for someone of my build .

On the down side, I had a regular nhs scan today as I have an ovarian cyst. Did someone post and say that they had one too? Mine is quite large (6.5cm x 4.5cm) but not currently growing. It is thought to be benign but it's not possible to tell without a biopsy. I am going for checks every 4 weeks to monitor it and after delivery I will need surgery. Apparantly it may rupture or twist but as the baby gets bigger and bigger there is less chance of that because there isn't room. If I start to experience pain I have to go straight to A&E just in case. In between appointments I feel fine about it and then when I see the consultant I feel quite low. I've never had an operation before and feel a little fearful.

Apart from the cyst I'm fine at very nearly 28 weeks. I'm a bit like an old lady first thing in the mornings...it takes me ages to 'loosen up'! I seem to get all stiff overnight and hobble around at first. DH says he now knows what to expect in our old age . Baby is head down and has been for a few weeks so hopefully she'll stay that way. The placenta is anterior so some movements are muffled by it. Mostly I feel her bottom sticking up in the air and her arms around her mouth. These sensations are really low down and when her elbow gives me a good prod I can often feel it in my groin. It's a weird sensation!

Hope everyone else is well - I am going to name check and everything now I am on holiday! SB x

Samantha - hope you don't mind me asking, but which birth centre did you go to in harley street? We went to the foetal medicine centre for an early viability scan -just wondered if that's the same place as would be keen to get a 4d scan a bit later on - sounds fab! Thanks!

BUnderTheBonnet · 27/07/2010 19:33

Alba I am doing the 10 and 12 weeks scans/bloods there too. They were really great - my DH is totally sold on private healthcare now!

Meita · 27/07/2010 21:15

Of course I'll let you all know how I'm getting on! In fact, I'll have to show DP how to log on so that he can get you all updated ASAP when things start rolling ;) Thanks everyone for being excited for me. A year ago I was so sad and upset and struggling to get to terms with the MC, and now here I am... The lost baby will always be part of my biography, and the new baby can't 'replace' it, but I am in a very different place now, emotionally and all. I'm excited and scared and overwhelmed and have decided to just not think about it all too much - things WILL work out some way or other and we will just have to take one thing, one day at a time.

SamB regarding the cyst, I have one too though smaller, and it hasn't been monitored since the 20 week scan. Once I had some pain on the left side (where it is) and when I told the MW at the next regular appointment she said I should have gone in then and have had it checked, but as it didn't hurt anymore, things were probably fine. I suppose as long as you're painfree and the specialists aren't too worried, you needn't be either. Yay at 28 weeks - final trimester just around the corner! Though mind you, although the third trimester is objectively shorter than the second, it seems to drag on forever, and I've found it much less fun than the second. Perhaps the holidays will help it pass quicker for you!

HappyGirl1 · 27/07/2010 21:21

MEita that's just so fantastic and so great to hear such a good news story.. really hope the next few weeks go really well for you and you feel well and relaxed coming up to the big day!

I'm more of a positive woman today too, starting to look at buggys etc which has always been scary for me (i know - daft but just never thought i'd get to this position). still a long long way to go though but fingers crossed.

this whole oh the tiredness goes in the 2nd trimester is a load of rubbish for me, i'm so so tired all the time.. i guess i'm not falling asleep at 8pm in the evenings now but still!

sparklyrainbow · 28/07/2010 09:55

SamB- lovely being on holiday isn?t it? Managed to catch up a bit on sleep so far. Starting to feel slightly more normal now, though Happy I agree the tiredness doesn?t seem to go, it?s different somehow though? Can anyone shed any light on how long the insane dreams last, is it until term? Had some interesting ones, getting a bit fed up now!

Meita very exciting and look forward to some news when s/he decides to arrive. Hope you can relax before then...

Our 20 week scan is a fortnight today- getting scared and excited at the same time!

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

Just popping in to say hi, sorry not to catch up on everyones news I promise I will do soon......I am ABSOLUTELY shattered.....I am hoping DD will agree to popcorn and a film........

AlbaDeTamble · 28/07/2010 15:48

Went for scan today, all still well and it's another BOY! Thought i'd be disappointed as I'll never have my own little girl, but finding I'm fine with it. DS is gorgeous and I'm quite happy with more of the same and hugely relieved still no signs of anything wrong.

WestYorkshireGirl · 28/07/2010 17:11

Lovely news about the scans Alba and Samantha.
Magic Enjoy your film. DH and I are having a night in together and watching stuff on IPLayer - all that talk of popcorn has made me hungry! Happygirl well done on the buggy shopping - still break out in a cold sweat when thinking about it and still haven't ventured to Mothercare! Meita well done on getting to 37 weeks - I can't imagine being pg that long at the moment - it all seems so far away!

Had some strange pains in my tummy in the night and periodically today - they are right in the centre just under my b button rather than low like period pains. They sort of feel crampy/muscular, but quite uncomfortable. I wasn't sure if I strained myself doing my pilates exercises (although I didn't do many) or if this kind of pain is normal - any ideas, Ladies?
