anyone else been prescribed Ferrograd?

I picked up my usual prescription the other day and ended up getting one for Ferrograd too. Is this safe to take whilst pregnant? Is anyone else taking this? I'm 39 weeks pg now and a bit surprised that it's taken this long for the prescription to be issued if I've been anaemic for a while.

The dose is 105mg elemental iron on the packet but reading some books the usual supplement dose is between 30 and 50 mg.

problem solved! went to see pharmacist this morning and the dose is safe to take in pregnancy. Not specifically given to pregnant women, but mainly for those who are suffering from iron-deficient anaemia.

I had it with DS1. 39 weeks is leaving it a tad late to take effect though lol!

SagacityNell that's basically what the pharmacist said too, he was surprised the surgery hadn't phoned to tell me about my blood results but I haven't heard a peep from them, so assumed my bloods were fine (despite being breathless - getting worse over past week or so). He told me they'll take about a week to work, so if it's anything like last time, then I'll be overdue and have enough strength to push this little nipper out!lol

I'm going along to the surgery on Monday to ask to see my results in person - will be interesting to see how low Hgb levels have dropped.

well if they take a week to work and you have a week ish left then i guess they will have done something.
