Me and DP are heading to WOMAD at the end of the month. I will be 30 weeks pregnant. I am really excited and looking forward to it. Having been for the last few years I think it is a pretty chilled out, family friendly festival that will be perfect to do with a bump

I was wondering if any other pregnant MN's are palnning on going. There was a few of us on here that went to Glasto the other week and it was nice to chat before and after to share tips and expereinces.

Looking forward to hearing from other WOMAD goers. Lets hope the weather is as amazing as it has been recently

No, but I will be going to Camp Bestival at the same time, at 28/29 weeks! Have fun!

Guiltyandfedup, have you been before? Are you camping or camper van'ing' it? It's reassuring to know someone more pregnant than me is doing it too. It's such a chilled festival though and not massive distances to walk between stages and campsite, so should be manageable. I am defintely looking forward to being able to use those communal showers (as opposed to 5 days of wet wipe washes at Glasto!!)

DomesticGoddess, have a brilliant time at Camp Bestival. My brother went last year and it looks like a really lovely festival. Perfect for going with a bump. Isn't that the fancy dress themed one? What are you planning on going as? Should be really fun to make a feature of and dress up your bump

Hi Ellabella!
We are camping but probably just for two nights as DP cant get away from work any earlier than that. I have bought all the mod cons lol such as enourmous blow up bed and porta loo. I have been before but not pregnant (or with a 4 year old!!) but am confident that it won't be 'stressful' and we are only 30 mins away from home for us if anything 'happens'.
How about you, what are you taking etc??

DomesticG0ddess · 05/07/2010 20:26

We haven't been to a festival either since before DS, who is now 3.5!

You're right, I think there is a fancy dress theme, had forgotten about that - have just checked and it is Fairy Tales. Is one of the 7 dwarves called Dumpy by any chance?

Hi Guiltyandfedup,
Yep, we are camping too. Our packing will include a nice thick air mattress and electric pump, a light weight chair that DP will carry around for me to rest my legs at regular intervals, some vest tops to show off my bump and get it painted if it is sunny enough and loads of sun cream as I have turned super sensitive to burning. Also a large 'garden trolley' to carry all our stuff in from the car to campsite. My porta loo will be an ice cream tub in the tent!!!

You'll have a lovely time with your 4 yr old. I'll look out for you in the Parade on Sunday .

DomesticGoddess,
Fairy Tales...fantastic What about Little Miss Muffat (who ate all the curd and whey)or Humpty Dumpty??
