What kind of mattress for Moses Basket?

Hi All!

I bought a Moses Basket and it has a little thin pad type thing in it, I presume to be used a mattress. As the baby will be sleeping in the basket for the first few months is this thin thing suitable as a mattress or is it a temporary thing? Am I supposed to buy a new mattress?

Any advice gratefully appreciated!

I'm hoping to sleep DC2 in the carry cot for the first few weeks, and I've been advised to get a thicker mattress for long sleeps.

Not too sure where to get one from though - Mama and Papa's do carrycot mattresses for between £14 and £22 but I don't know whether they'd fit a moses basket...

here (I hope!)
