Due date

I have a viability scan today. Will they be able to date the pregnancy for me?

I'm either 7 weeks and 2 days or 7 weeks and 6 days.

I've been using the What to expect when you're pregnant app. It's due date calculator suggested I was due Feb 11 2010. But that doesn't take into account my 31 day cycle and another calculator suggested my due date is Feb 15 2010.

Am keen to reach the 10 week mark as soon as possible because last pregnancy ended in mmc.

I had two early scans, one just before six weeks and the other at 7+1. At the second they were able to date the pregnancy pretty accurately, within a day or two anyway. They do it by measuring the crown to rump length, and it correlated with the date they gave at the 12-week dating scan.

I'm sorry to hear about your mmc - good luck for this pregnancy and I hope the scan goes OK. I found mine really put my mind at rest.

Early scans aren't always accurate as the baby is so small, it's harder to measure and a tiny difference in measurement can mean a big difference i dates. I had a scan at 8+4 and they dated me provisionally at 7+5!
