38 weeks and feeling very down

Hi, anyone out there can give me some hugs? Feeling very down. 38 wks with dc2. Not sleeping well at all through the heat, loo (7 times last night) and anxious. Now so wound up that I will be knackered when I go into labour that I'll end up having forceps or c section. DS1 arrived bang on 38 weeks so was a surprise but long labour and was so tired that baby got distressed and I ended up having forceps delivery. So I guess I'm being paranoid now that it will be the same and I know how hard the sleeplessness is when the baby arrives.
Oh god, i know I'm getting in a state. Try to speak to dh about this and he is sympathetic but also impatient as his work is affected until dc arrives.

Aw I feel for you rubyblue sending lots of hugs your way. Hope the next few weeks go smoothly - I'm only on DC1 but if it's any concilation my mum had a bad labour with me but in her words my brother (no. 2) 'shot out'! Hope you have the same xx

thanks planner26. My mum is the opposite and keeps going on about how difficult my birth was. Not helpful!

I know how you feel rubyblue, I have same feelings as you about impending labour (although 4 weeks to go) as had horrid time with DS.
Added to that waiting until today to hear if I had been made redundant (haven't thankfully), knowing all my friends have lost their jobs, and can't find anywhere to live after selling our flat here - I am feeling like crap.
Heat is a pain too.
I wonder is there a hormone thing going on at this stage - I am crying constantly, angry constantly and anxious constantly.
Just remember, we are very nearly there!

Hey biggest, hugs out to you. Sounds like you've had a lot to cope with. But good that you've still got your job!
I thought I was ok about the first labour and birth and then remembered a few things, like how knackered I was and going from a lovely quiet pool to a surgical suite with 14 (i counted them) people. One of the theatre technicians was a burly bloke covered in tattoos who had a really good look at my privates as I was being stitched up and that was the only really humiliating part of the whole thing - which I guess is why I'm hung up about forceps again.
The heat is a nightmare, I just feel even more exhausted by it and faint if I overheat and makes sleep even more difficult.
With you on the hormones, I've been feeling very emotional, angry, upset, irrational....Ah well, then we have the joys of a newbie!

Hi everyone, I'm also 38 weeks with number 2 and not sleeping well due to the heat! The only suggestion I have that helps me is a relaxation track that I listen to whenever I get stressed out (e.g. a lot!) I've got one that I listen to before I go to sleep and it definitely helps me tune things out a bit.

Definitely don't be too hard on yourselves though - honestly, this heat makes me feel poisoned - totally drained and sick. Lots of cold baths are the only thing that helps! Certainly doesn't help keep on an even keel with the hormones though...
