Hello,

I am 7 week's today and for the last week or so i have been getting what feels like there is water in the bottom of my eyes and and even when i shut my eyes it's there, it last's for about half hour ish, at forst i thought it was sitting in the sun but today it was before i even went outside.

I have booked a phone consultation with the doctor for today and just waiting for a call back, but was just woundering if anyone has any idea while i'm sitting here worrying, i dont want to google as i know how scarey that can be.

Still could be, the tiredness can also play havoc with your vision. Try not to worry, it is very unlikely to be anything serious!

xkatyx · 30/06/2010 09:53

thank you, yes i am so tired at the moment and in mist of sickness could be all related.

Sounds like ocular migraine. I get it when pregnant and also when dehydrated or having had too much wine the night before.

Aldus Huxley in his book 'Moksha: Aldous Huxley's Classic Writings on Psychedelics and the Visionary Experience' talks about a pregnant woman who got the same visuals as he did when he took psilocibin, a halucinogenic. If it looks a bit like oily water that could be it.
Of course, migraines also do it.

knittakid · 03/07/2010 11:11

Well, sorry about the topic stopper. How are you now?

vmcd28 · 03/07/2010 12:14

yes, could be a migraine - your GP will prob tell you to see your optician too, just to rule everything out, though it is unlikely to be anything serious.

Thank you all for advice, its all calmed down now, but i do notice it goes hand in hand with a headache, just got to get eyes tested i think.

I got that at around 14 weeks in my last pregnancy. The Dr thought it was due to low blood pressure and was totally unconcerned. (Unlike the numpty at NHS 24 who told me not to panic but to get to hospital ASAP and panicked the hell out of me and DH.)

I had visual disturbances when I was pg. It started very early on in the pregnancy (before I even knew I was pg) and continued intermittently til about 12 weeks or so if I remember rightly.
It was just like a migraine but without the headache. I occasionally get migraines, and mentioned it to my midwife. She said not to worry as I've had migraines before. It would be a cause for concern if you've never had migraines before in your life though.
