Overdue and booked for induction, but not offered sweep - shall I chase it up?

Finally saw a MW at the hospital I am going to give birth at because I was worried I had no 'plan' - ie. no MW appointments etc. Saw her at 40+2 and she said she would book me in for induction at +12 if that's what I wanted and they don't do sweeps. My last two have been inductions (same hospital) , first I had a sweep and then a few days later went for induction, started with the gel and I can't remember much after that, think I may have had drip too , with DS2 I had a sweep and went into labour on my own, but went into hospital for my induction appointment as they sort of over lapped - no idea if sweep did it. I am 40+6 now, Mondays induction is looming and am wondering if it's worth chasing up a sweep, or whether they really only work if your going into labour anyway. I feel twinges and do think a sweep might give me the final push this time, but obviously I am no expert

I was induced at 40+3 and was not offered a sweep because I was not favourable - my cervix was completely closed. The only way they were able to tell me that was by internal examination. Its worth asking about especially if you are feeling twinges. I felt nothing and was clearly not ready but had to be induced because I had cholestasis.
