Hi all,

Just wondering if you could help me please? I should know this considering I've had 2 babies but I cant remember!! (despite ds being just 5 months old - damn baby brain!).

Do you mean period type pains at the beginning of pregnancy? I had these for a couple of weeks around the time my period was due - they're because of the uterus stretching apparently.

I'm 27 weeks and have period pains around the time that I would have been due to come on had I not been pregnant.

Yes, I had this around the time period due and after testing. It is normal.

Yes - there is a lot going on down there in the early days, what with implanting and such like.

Cramps are perfectly normal - in fact, I found them reassuring, as I had them much more noticeably with my successful pregnancies than with my non-successful.

Thank you so much! really helpful. Thought I vaguely remembered having them with dd (now almost 5) as I remember being shocked to find out I was pregnant as was sure totm was coming..

Thanks again.

yes, not so severe, duller. I had this for several weeks

I definitely had period pains in early pregnancy. Felt exactly like period pains. Am 21 weeks now and haven't experienced them since about week 4 or 5 though.

Yes - I think it's actually the uterus growing (or so I was told first time round, as I was convinced I was about to miscarry in the early weeks).
