My LMP was 4th june and have had positive hpt, my cycle has been 21 days for past few months but how pregnant am i??? Am i only 3 weeks or 4weeks?? I know the doctor usually bases it on a 28 cycle so am a bit confused. really need to know as had m/c at 4 weeks 3 days earlier this year and would like to know if i got past it this time!! Also digital says 2-3 weeks sice conception but again thats based on 28 day cycle!!

Congratulations!

If you know when you ovulated, then I think pregnancy officially starts 2 weeks before that, which may well not be when your last menstrual period was.

My LMP was 31st May, I ovulated on 11th June (CD12 of cycle) and so think I am 4 weeks 3 days today.

Based on what you've said, I would say you are 4 weeks, not 3, but if you know your ovulation date that would make it easier.

Hope that helps

Too early for maths- but i had a 21 day cycle and docs calculate based on length of cycle and date of last period. They don't have everyone conforming to a 28 day cycle. Congratulations!

ooh, sorry- just to add, pg starts on the first day of your last period- so for the first few days to 2 weeks, you're officially pg when you're not iyswim....

I got pg on 21 day cycle. Even though I told dr length of cycle they have still calculated it as a 4 wk cycle throughout - so I am officially due 15 July though I initially thought it would be 8 July. No idea when I ovulated or anything like that and the early scans seemed to bear out the later date i.e. I was 4 wks pg when I found out, not 3.

You have the due date calculator, with take care of short cycles.
You will probably be one week more advance than with a 28 days cycle. Instead of 4 weeks since last period (which would be 4 weeks pregnancy for a norrmal cycle) your pregnancy will be at 5 weeks, does that make sense?
But that early it will be difficult to tell with a scan. At the 12 weeks scan you will probably be aged at 13 weeks.

The digital tests take no notice of how long your cycle is and date from conception. So for a 28 day cycle you'd add 2 weeks to that to get how pregnant you are, and for a 21 day cycle you'd add 1-2 weeks. However, the conception indicator is very affected by the strength of your urine.

Do you know when in your cycle you ovulate? If not, you can't work it out accurately anyway. The "standard" luteal phase is 14 days, but anything from 11 days up is considered fine. If you had a 21 day cycle and a 14 day luteal phase, you'd ovulate/conceive around day 7. But if you had an 11 day luteal phase with a 21 day cycle, you'd ovulate/conceive around day 10.

I think it's unlikely you'd have got pregnant if your luteal phase was much less than 11 days.

So if this would've been a 21 day cycle, you're somewhere between 4 weeks and 4+4 weeks pregnant I think.

thanks for all your answers i think i conceived June 10th, i put that into the due date calendar and it makes me about 4 weeks +5days, i really hope so{smile} its bad enough worrying when you find out after your 4 weeks gone, let alone an extra weeks worth of worrying{smile}
