Healthy tasty foods to snack on to stop morning sickness

Hi there,

I'm luckier than most & haven't actually been sick, but spend most of my day snacking to stop feeling so nauseous.

I'm trying so hard to only snack on healthy things but I am SO tired of rice cakes, bananas, rich tea fingers, carrot sticks and home made muffins. (especially when I am NOT the worlds best baker!)

I would love to hear all your healthy snack cures please, I need inspiration before I turn into a whale!!

Granny smith apples and satsumas - the slight sourness helped the sickness. Olives, cherry tomatoes and peapods were good ones as well.
Have a look on graze.com for snack box ideas too.

Steep slices of ginger in chicken broth and drink warm. Was the only thing keeping me going at one point.

Fruit pieces dipped in fat free greek yoghurt

Dried fruit

Pineapple rings in juice

Sticks of celery filled with cheese triangles

Corn on the cob

Cashew nuts

Plain Popcorn

Breadsticks with hummus

Mini pitta bread filled with salad

Miso soup

A hard boiled egg

Crackers spread lightly with peanut butter

A Poppadum with 1 tbsp salsa

A rice cake with 1 tbsp guacamole

I have also been making up stuffed peppers and keeping them in the fridge, I have been stuffing the peppers with cous cous ( only a 3g of fat in the whole packet) and just snacking on one of those if i've felt sick. - Sadly nothing works on my sickness though!!

Cold watermelon is lovely.

LittleMissSnowShine · 28/06/2010 20:51

toast - it's an oldie but a goodie!! and you can keep it fairly healthy by using wholegrain bread, organic/no sugar peanut butter, st. dalfour sugar free jams or houmous as a topping.

carbs were the only thing that helped me anyways!

Toast saved me - I had it with butter, houmous, marmite, jam....whatever was available and I could keep down! And having wholegrain bread at least some of the time makes it healthier.

Sucking on polos helps me and sipping water a lot.

Thanks so much - they are all great - I got MrFC to buy a watermelon on the way home from work & lug it home for me! Needless to say he didn't really understand when I said 'you carried a WATERMELON??' And then collapsed in giggles!

I've started having a slice of toast on the run in the mornings too, that's helped, rataher than waaiting till I get to work, and I love the fruit yoghurt combo! Going to try the broth at the weekend.

Thank you all again xx
