Can I take Lemsip in pregnancy?

That's it really. Got a horrible summer cold and sore throat, would normally take lemsip max strength, packet says check with gp or pharmacist. I seem to have 2 versions in - one has Paracetamol and Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, the other Paracetomol and Phenylephrine hydrochloride and vit c, thanks

No, not unless your doctor says to do so. The decongestant bit isn't definitely safe. Stick with plain paracetamol and Vicks or Olbas.

I think the Boots own brand version doesn't contain the decongestant so is safe to take, but I shouldn't imagine it's much different from making yourself a honey and lemon and taking a paracetamol. It might act as a placebo though!

WHat I did was buy lemonade and a lemon, cut some slices up and place in a mug with lemonade, put it in microwave till hot (sounds gross but isn't) you can add honey too, then take 2 paracetamol and drink the lemon drink, it REALLY does help.

thanks all will try that _ i dont really need the decongestant anyway just find the hot lemon soothingon my throat normally and am taking paractamol like you say< thanks
