After early scan this week due to spotting....

I'm still spotting on and off, although no cramps (apart from needing the loo ones at times).

How long is it normal to spot for? I am not as worried as I was last week as I had the scan on Tuesday, but still a bit nervy. My 12 wk scan is on the 20th July which seems an eternity away and I am already really nervous about going.

Should I ring the midwife tomorrow just to check if I should be worried?

I had spotting with DD1 especially when my periods would have been due up to 12 wks. You cannot really say how long is normal, many people have different expereiences but many have been in your situation and been fine. If everything was ok with your scan then that is a goood sign. I know it is really hard but you can only wait and see.
I wish you the best of luck.

I'd ring the midwife if I developed more symptoms - cramps, or more bleeding (heavier, or fresher/redder).

If things are still at the same, or a lesser level than when you were scanned, then they probably wouldn't want to see you again before the 12 week scan.

If the spotting is getting less red, and more brownish, that's good - it means old blood.

They will always be happy to talk to you at the EPAC if you are worried.

I hardly had any red spotting, was mostly brown. I have had one bit of red today on wiping, but it has now returned to brown spotting.

It's only ever on wiping, not on the pad/underwear. I have a slight ache in my tummy at the mo, but I had that on and off when the spotting started too and at the hospital they said that wasn't anything abnormal.

I am not freaking out, but I can't help feling rather uneasy about it.

Still spotting (mainly brown) and getting a little bit more concerned. It is normal to spot for this long?

I may phone the m/w tomorrow, but as you said oldmum, they will probably want me to wait for the 12 wk scan. I'm getting rather terrified that we'll get there and it will all be over.

Plus I had an horrendous upset tummy today, so feel more grim than usual.

I've been in the same position as you twice. I know how you feel.

What is the spotting like? Is it pale/beige brown or very dark/almost black brown?

If you are at all worried, phone the midwife or EPU. Dont worry that you are being a pain to them - thats why theyre there.
